\tAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced\u00a0Accountant\u00a0to join the Finance Department of a leading organisation based at\u00a0Dube TradePort\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tThe Accountant will partner closely with the business to ensure strong financial control and deliver accurate, timely financial results in line with internal and external reporting requirements and deadlines.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric
\n\tBachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent
\n\tCIMA qualification
\n\tMinimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
\n\tAutomotive manufacturing experience will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tPrepare accurate monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Manager
\n\tReconcile all general ledger accounts
\n\tProcess transactions on SAP including provisions, accruals, interest, tax, salaries, clearing FEC accounts, and depreciation
\n\tCollaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless month-end processes
\n\tMaintain the fixed asset register
\n\tReview supplier reconciliations and oversee payment processes
\n\tOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
\n\tSupport daily finance operations across the business
\n\tPrepare tax computations and VAT reconciliations for review by the Finance Manager
\n\tSubmit tax returns (VAT, Income Tax, Provisional Tax, PAYE, DWT) and compile audit schedules
\n\tSupport and co-ordinate stock counts and variance analysis
\n\tCo-ordinate external audits and assist in finalising annual financial statements
\n\tSupport product costing activities
\n\tEnsure accurate and timeous processing and submission of customer invoices and follow up on payments
\n\tPrepare forex reports and manage recoveries
\n\tMaintain daily cash flow reporting and assist with working capital management
\n\tSupport budgeting and forecasting processes
\n\tPrepare monthly budget vs actual reports and related variance analysis
\n\tCompile and submit statutory and compliance reporting including BBBEE, Dube TradePort, and Stats SA
\n\tWork closely with the Finance Manager to meet overall business objectives<\/p>\n
Technical Skills & Competencies<\/p>\n
\tStrong financial reporting expertise
\n\tWorking knowledge of forex including IFRS-aligned accounting treatment
\n\tSAP S4\/Hana experience would be advantageous
\n\tStrong critical thinking skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset
\n\tExcellent relationship-building and influencing skills at all levels
\n\tAbility to prioritise effectively and meet strict deadlines<\/p>\n
