Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tWe are seeking a proactive, self-starting Data & Business Analyst to join our Fundraising Data Analysis & Reporting team in Johannesburg.
\n\tThis is a hands-on role for someone who can hit the ground running and deliver value quickly. The Analyst will take ownership of a range of data and business analysis tasks \u2014 from building dashboards, interrogating fundraising data, and ensuring business processes are followed, to drawing actionable insights that inform strategy and unlock new opportunities.
\n\tThe role requires someone who can look beyond the numbers, understand the business need, and work independently to provide recommendations that improve fundraising performance and decision-making.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Analytics & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide clarity on fundraising performance and pipeline health.
\n\tManage and analyze Salesforce data, ensuring data quality and process adherence.
\n\tDeliver clear reports and insights that support leadership decision-making.<\/p>\n
Business & Process Analysis<\/p>\n
\tMonitor compliance with fundraising SOPs and highlight areas of risk or inconsistency.
\n\tProvide training and support to fundraising colleagues on tools and reporting processes.
\n\tIdentify inefficiencies or gaps in systems and propose improvements.<\/p>\n
Insight Generation<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse data to uncover patterns, risks, and opportunities for fundraising growth.
\n\tUse desktop and secondary research to generate insights
\n\tLeverage AI and research tools to deepen insights into donor trends and funding opportunities as well as enhance our data and insight capabilities.
\n\tTranslate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership and frontline fundraisers.<\/p>\n
Collaboration<\/p>\n
\tAct as a thought partner to the Fundraising Data Analysis & Reporting Head.
\n\tEngage across fundraising teams to understand their needs and proactively provide solutions.
\n\tContribute to donor proposals and reporting by supplying data-driven evidence.<\/p>\n
Job Requirements
\nCompetencies, qualifications and experience needed for the role:<\/p>\n
Essential :<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in data Analytics, Business, Economics, Environmental Science, Computer Science or related field.
\n\t2\u20134 years\u2019 experience in data\/business analysis, preferably within fundraising, NGOs, or related sectors.
\n\tStrong experience with Power BI (dashboards, data models) and Salesforce.
\n\tProven ability to interpret data and generate insights that add strategic value.
\n\tStrong process orientation and ability to enforce SOPs.
\n\tExcellent communication skills, with the confidence to present findings and train others.
\n\tSelf-starter: proactive, curious, and able to work independently with limited supervision.<\/p>\n
Desirable:<\/p>\n
\tExperience in fundraising intelligence or donor market research.
\n\tKnowledge of impact measurement or international development funding trends.
\n\tInterest in applying AI and automation to strengthen analysis.
\n\tPassion for conservation and Africa\u2019s natural heritage.
