PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\tThe purpose of this position is to assist with engineering maintenance activities and cleaning under the instruction and oversight of the artisan\/supervisor.<\/p>\n
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Health, Safety and Legal Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with Company and Client Health and Safety procedures and requirements
\n\tIdentify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and employ adequate control measures to ensure all work is performed safely. All work performed needs to have an associated continuous risk assessment.
\n\tComply with legislative and operational requirements
\n\tAdhere to the Company and Client environmental management program and all policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Functional Role<\/p>\n
\tAssists with dismantling and re-assembling equipment as per site requirements.
\n\tAssists with installations and breakdowns of equipment where services are required under instruction from the Artisan or Maintenance supervisor
\n\tPerforms general housekeeping duties in the workshop and clean-up after maintenance activities
\n\tAssist in regular lubrication schedules as per MMP system requirements
\n\tPerforms working at heights and confined space work when required.
\n\tPlant walk-downs and inspections
\n\tReport on all maintenance and safety risks immediately
\n\tOperate the Mobile Plant Equipment to assist with vehicle offloading and equipment replacements.<\/p>\n
Quality and Quantity outputs are achieved<\/p>\n
\tOutput achieved within given guidelines
\n\tKnowledge and experience to correctly apply maintenance methods e.g. standards pertaining to greasing etc.
\n\tReduce rework
\n\tImprove the efficiency of the Artisan through support and anticipating the next activity
\n\t> 98% compliance with schedules and routines<\/p>\n
Financial<\/p>\n
\tPlant walk-downs and inspections to report failures and issues before equipment fails
\n\tRegular plant cleaning to prevent equipment failure<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED courses (e.g., N3 Certificate)
\n\tMaths and Science will be an advantage
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s License preferably code \u201cB\u201d<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 years demonstrated experience and knowledge within the industry working with Hand tools as a Maintenance Assistant
\n\tEnglish language proficiency
\n\tKnowledge of workplace safety and procedures<\/p>\n
