Requirements<\/p>\n
\tDegree, B-Tech or Advanced Diploma in Built-Environment, Facilities Management or Construction Management.
\n\tThe applicant must have a minimum of 5 years\u2019 post degree experience in building construction, maintenance and renovation works programmers and three (3) years must be at middle management level.
\n\tRegistration with any built environment council will serve as an added advantage.
\n\tWorking knowledge of Microsoft project, Excel and Word.
\n\tExperience in Project Management and Quality Management processes.
\n\tExperience in managing a team of technical workers.
\n\tWorking knowledge of Protected Areas Act, National Building Regulations, CIDB Regulations and SANS Codes.
\n\tAdvanced knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
\n\tSound financial background.
\n\tGood communication, liaison and negotiation skills.
\n\tA Valid code EB Driver\u2019s license.
\n\tMust be willing to work irregular hours.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that all civil and building infrastructure and equipment is maintained, upgraded, and renovated in accordance with National Standards and applicable legislation.
\n\tPlan, facilitate and implement predetermined maintenance, renovations and replacement programs.
\n\tManage construction and maintenance contractors and Service Level Agreements.
\n\tDevelop and implement a quality assurance program for civil and building infrastructure in terms of pre-determined standards.
\n\tEvaluate all existing buildings, equipment, and services to compile annual renovation and replacement programs.
\n\tCompile the annual budget and advise the Tourism and Conservation departments on technical related aspects to be included in their operational budgets.
\n\tIntroduce the latest technology in building services and ensure that the support services are delivered through best practice.
\n\tEnsure effective and professional project and program management.
\n\tContribute to development and training in emerging new contractors.
\n\tProvide technical support to operational divisions.
\n\tProvide a healthy and safe environment for SANParks employees and manage Occupational Health and Safety programs.
\n\tManage the national park\u2019s vehicle fleet.
\n\tEnsure sound financial management and governance.
\n\tLead and develop the human capital of the technical department.<\/p>\n
