Role Purpose\/Business Unit:<\/p>\n
The job role for Operations Support Engineer is:<\/p>\n
\tTo ensure operational excellence across all production systems supporting Big Data and Machine Learning platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining system reliability, managing incidents, changes and delivering ITIL-aligned support services to ensure seamless platform performance and user satisfaction.<\/p>\n
Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
Production Operations & Support<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and maintain the health of production data and ML pipelines, platforms, and services.
\n\tPerform root cause analysis and resolution of production incidents.
\n\tManage and coordinate incident response, escalation, and communication.
\n\tEnsure timely resolution of support tickets and service requests.<\/p>\n
ITIL Service Management<\/p>\n
\tImplement and manage ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
\n\tMaintain service documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
\n\tParticipate in CAB (Change Advisory Board) reviews and ensure compliance with change protocols.<\/p>\n
Operational Excellence<\/p>\n
\tDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance.
\n\tCollaborate with DevOps, MLOps, and Platform Engineering teams to automate operational tasks.
\n\tTrack and report on SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs for operational services.<\/p>\n
Monitoring & Observability<\/p>\n
\tSet up and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
\n\tEnsure visibility into system performance and proactively identify issues.
\n\tSupport observability tooling and dashboards for platform health.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tAct as the first point of contact for production-related issues.
\n\tLiaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve operational challenges.
\n\tProvide regular updates and reports to leadership on operational status and risks<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate for this role will have:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
\n\t5+ years of experience in Big Data, ML Operations Support.\u00a0
\n\tExperience with Cloud based data technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
\n\t5+ years of overall IT experience with Big Data, Advance Analytics, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.\u00a0
\n\tRelevant cloud certification at professional or associate level would be advantageous.\u00a0
\n\tStrong communication and collaboration skills.
\n\tAgile exposure, Kanban, or Scrum<\/p>\n
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:<\/p>\n
\tIn-depth knowledge of data as a product & Information best practices.
\n\tExperience in using a wide range for data tools such as AWS services \u2013 S3, SFTP, Glue, EMR (Spark), Airflow, Athena, CloudWatch, CouldTrail, KMS, Kinesis, OpenSearch, etc.\u00a0
\n\tStrong understanding of ITIL frameworks and service management.\u00a0
\n\tExperience in production support for data platforms, ML systems, or cloud infrastructure.\u00a0
\n\tFamiliarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Postgress).\u00a0
\n\tKnowledge of incident and change management workflows.\u00a0
\n\tExcellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
\n\tWorking experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
\n\tWorking experience with Kubernetes and Docker containers.
\n\tWorking experience with CI\/CD, IAC and DevOps tools such as CDK, Code Repos, etc.
\n\tStrong programming skills in Python and SQL.<\/p>\n
