The overall purpose of the Senior Buyer (Commodities) is to play a pivotal role in the procurement of Commodities such as Coal, Lime, Fuel, Raw Materials and Chemicals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tResponsible for the transactional procurement of goods and\/or services as guided by the respective category strategy and business requirements.\u00a0
\n\tThe role includes buying against a contract and\/or supporting sourcing processes.\u00a0
\n\tThe role will assist with all administrative requirements, contract administration and supplier communication for the category.\u00a0
\n\tThis role is responsible for ensuring availability of quality raw materials and chemicals and the provision of reliable commodity information to the business on demand.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tProcurement of strategic commodities : Coal, \u00a0Lime, Salt, Agric Chemicals, Fuel, Import Chemicals, Voermol Raw Materials, and Chemicals
\n\tFull Management of the procurement-to-pay process for the portfolio.
\n\tConvene and Attend Commodity Pricing and Management Meetings
\n\tPreparation of commodity monthly price forecasts.
\n\tResolve Payment Queries where required
\n\tReduction of working capital exposure
\n\tSupplier Performance Management
\n\tEnsure compliance with Treasury\/Finance and legislative requirements regarding all foreign procurement<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies<\/p>\n
\tRelevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management \u00a0or Procurement or equivalent experience
\n\tHigh stress tolerance and excellent time management skills
\n\t4 Years Procurement with commodities<\/p>\n
Stakeholder engagements.<\/p>\n
\tIn-depth product knowledge for TH commodities such as Cotton Oil Cake, CMS, Molasses, DBG, Soya etc
\n\tPlanning, Scheduling & Crisis Management
\n\tSAP Materials Management (MM) module
\n\tSupply Contracts
\n\tTenders and Forecasting<\/p>\n
Supplier Negotiations<\/p>\n
\tStrong planning, negotiation, and implementation skills
\n\tAbility to conduct market-related research to keep abreast of commodity pricing and monitor product availability
\n\tFull understanding of TH Vendor management requirements and governance
\n\tSound understanding of import procedures and all related documentation<\/p>\n
