Purpose of the position:<\/p>\n
\tTo provide HIV Testing Services to clients accessing public health services as part of IHSS support to the facilities through the district roving mentor teams in reaching their 95-95-95 targets as directed by the CDC work plan and overall NDoH strategy to reach the 95-95-95 targets.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tHTS Certificate including Adherence Counselling and Rapid testing course (RTCQII)
\n\tCouple counselling
\n\tAdvanced counselling certificate
\n\tHave 3-5 years experience
\n\tTB\/HIV care certificate or other Health related field
\n\tDisclosure and paediatric consent certificate
\n\tMS Office
\n\tAble to communicate in English and isiXhosa is an advantage
\n\tCriminal Clear<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tProvide HIV Counselling and Testing Services (HTS) to clients of the Department of Health attending PHCs or CHCs to access any health services offered at these facilities inclusive of and focusing on TB\/HIV and MCH services.
\n\tRecruit clients from all waiting areas as well as from direct referrals from other health professionals.
\n\tProvide HIV\/AIDS Counselling and Testing as well as TB screening services to clients as per the National HCT Guidelines and as stipulated by the National Department of Health.
\n\tEducate clients re health and specific HIV\/TB\/PMTCT-related conditions
\n\tPromote the advantages of knowing your status
\n\tExplain coping mechanisms and treatment options
\n\tProvide adherence counselling and assist with identifying treatment support
\n\tDo TB symptom screening on all clients and refer if positive
\n\tLink positive clients to ART initiation services
\n\tLink positive clients to community health services, act as facility liaison with other positive clients tested in the community and referred to the facility
\n\tEnsure HTS register\/tick sheet is up to date
\n\tEnsure all counselling and testing consent forms are filled in appropriately and are filed in the patient records
\n\tEnsure patient registration forms are filled in correctly with latest address and contact details
\n\tEncourage all mothers and pregnant females to test and target their children in testing activities
\n\tMaintain infection control standards
\n\tParticipate in outreach activities, i.e. campaigns<\/p>\n
