\tTo provide dedicated assistance and operational support to both the\u00a0On-Course Supervisor\u00a0and\u00a0Bank Controller\u00a0in managing all aspects of the Betting operations on race days.
\n\tThis includes ensuring the smooth functioning of on-course betting and banking activities, maintaining cash control and reconciliation accuracy, supporting staff coordination, and upholding customer service excellence within the race day environment.
\n\tThe role contributes directly to the efficient delivery of Race Coast KwaZulu-Natal\u2019s Betting objectives, operational integrity, and race day experience for customers and stakeholders.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRA):<\/p>\n
Support within the On-Course Environment<\/p>\n
\tAssist the On-Course Supervisor in coordinating and overseeing all Betting operations during race days.
\n\tMonitor operator performance and resource allocation to ensure optimal service levels across all booths and betting stations.
\n\tPrepare, review, and analyse race day reports, including operator headcount, turnover figures, and transaction volumes per hour, to support post-race analysis.
\n\tAddress and resolve customer complaints, payment disputes, or service-related issues promptly and professionally.
\n\tSupport the\u00a0HDJ (Hollywoodbets Durban July) recruitment and training programme\u00a0in conjunction with the Human Resources department \u2014 including assisting with onboarding, training coordination, and performance feedback.
\n\tEnsure adherence to Race Coast\u2019s operational procedures, cash handling policies, and code of conduct at all times.<\/p>\n
Performance Indicators:<\/p>\n
\tAccuracy and timeliness of race day reporting.
\n\tReduction in customer complaints or transaction errors.
\n\tSmooth deployment and performance of on-course staff.<\/p>\n
Support to the On-Course Bank<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Bank Controller with the\u00a0preparation, verification, and issuing of floats and cash boxes\u00a0for all race day booths and operations.
\n\tMaintain accurate documentation for all cash movements, including float issues, transfers, and collections.
\n\tEnsure all\u00a0on-course ATMs are stocked with sufficient cash\u00a0to meet public and operator demand throughout the event.
\n\tDistribute additional cash to booths as required during race day operations, maintaining clear audit trails.
\n\tEnsure all booth cash and floats are correctly returned, verified, and recorded with the on-course bank at day end.
\n\tConduct reconciliation and balancing of all incoming monies, updating results on designated control systems.
\n\tPrepare, verify, and submit all necessary banking and finance paperwork to the Finance Department within set deadlines.
\n\tMaintain constant oversight of\u00a0bank and main vault balances, ensuring funds are secure and fully accounted for.<\/p>\n

\n\tNo unaccounted or unbalanced cash variances.<\/p>\n
Operational Compliance and Coordination<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to Race Coast KwaZulu-Natal\u2019s internal controls, financial procedures, and operational standards.
\n\tSupport the coordination of on-course logistics, including booth setup, signage, and materials related to Betting activities.
\n\tCommunicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and administrative staff to ensure information flow and task completion.
\n\tContribute to continuous improvement by identifying and reporting operational inefficiencies or procedural gaps.
\n\tUphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all cash and customer-related dealings.<\/p>\n

Customer & Stakeholder Service<\/p>\n
\tProvide efficient and courteous assistance to racegoers, operators, and internal staff regarding Betting matters.
\n\tPromote a positive and professional image of Race Coast KwaZulu-Natal at all times.
\n\tCollaborate with customer service teams to enhance the on-course experience through responsiveness and reliability.<\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE \/ COMPETENCIES \/ GENERAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 2 years\u2019 experience in retail, events, banking, or racing\/betting environments with cash handling and reconciliation exposure.
\n\tSupervisory or coordination experience in a customer-facing role preferred.<\/p>\n
Technical Competencies:<\/p>\n
\tProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
\n\tStrong numerical and reconciliation abilities.
\n\tFamiliarity with betting systems, financial control procedures, or on-course operations advantageous.<\/p>\n
Behavioral Competencies:<\/p>\n
\tHigh integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
\n\tStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
