The role:<\/p>\n
\tA mining operator at a coal mine plays a crucial role in supporting the overall mining operations and ensuring the efficient extraction of coal. Working under the supervision of experienced miners and engineers, the mining assistant carries out various tasks to contribute to the smooth functioning of the mine.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tOperate small or large Mining Machinery
\n\tAssist in maintaining good housekeeping standards in Mining area.
\n\tWorking at heights & in confined spaces
\n\tPerform any other duties in and around your area of work as per operational requirement
\n\tIdentifying faults without supervision<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 10 (Mathematics or Math Literacy, English)<\/p>\n
Internal Candidate:<\/p>\n
\tAs per multiskilling license requirement \/ agreement<\/p>\n
External Candidate:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 2 years working experience in a coal mining environment and as per multiskilling license requirement \/ agreement
\n\tMust be willing & able to be trained on various mining machinery
\n\tHigh regard for safety regulations, policies, and standards with an excellent safety record
\n\tHave a sound knowledge of safety systems and standards
\n\tHave the ability to read, write and communicate in English
\n\tMust be prepared to do a practical driving assessment and be deemed competent
\n\tMust be willing to undergo a behavioural assessment
\n\tBe able to cope with pressure in a production environment
\n\tBe prepared to work overtime & shifts as required
\n\tMust not be afraid to work at heights or of large machinery
\n\tMust be able to work in a team
\n\tMust have a valid K53 driver\u2019s license
\n\tIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tPrevious mining experience
\n\tMine Specific Equipment Licensing
\n\tCompetent B \u2013 UG Based on Role Profile (Roof Bolt Operator)<\/p>\n
