\tManages the key performance areas of the design branch by evaluating the adequacy and capability of the functionality to support the departmental objectives, controlling the personnel and financial resources, developing and\/or reviewing current procedures, identifying with opportunities and trends to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibility Areas\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tIdentifies and defines the immediate, short and long term objectives\/plans of the branch.
\n\tApplies civil engineering principles to provide direction on the technical design and construction of a variety of operations.
\n\tDisseminates strategic, functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long term objectives.
\n\tCo-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements.
\n\tDirects and control outcomes associated with utilization productivity and performance of personnel within the branch.
\n\tPrepares capital and operating estimates for the branch and approves and controls operational and project related expenditure against budget allocations.
\n\tManages the formulation of contracts and tender documents and controls contractual obligations.<\/p>\n

Essential Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Civil Engineering.
\n\tRegistered as a Professional Civil Engineer with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
\n\tValid motor vehicle driving license.
\n\t8 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration.
\n\tComputer Literacy.<\/p>\n
