Minimum Qualifications\/Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tMatric\/Grade 12
\n\tBachelor’s degree\/ BTech [NQF 7} in Security Management \/ Policing \/ Public Administration \/ or equivalent.
\n\t7 years’ extensive experience and subject matter expertise in Safety and Security environment of which 5 years should be at a managerial level in Safety and Security Management, Law enforcement
\n\tCCTV experience
\n\tValid Code B driver’s license.
\n\tSound knowledge of Safety & Security Legislation: Road Traffic Legislation, and Municipal ByLaws;
\n\tGood communication skills
\n\tGood written and verbal communication skills
\n\tGood listening and problem-solving skills
\n\tGood Financial Management skills
\n\tProblem solving skills and Customer Care
\n\tClear criminal record
\n\tAccountability and Ethical Conduct<\/p>\n
Key Performance Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tThis incumbent shall oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and security initiatives within the municipality\u2019s jurisdiction.
\n\tIdentify and pursue new opportunities for business development and expanding the CCTV footprint.
\n\tMaintain compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to safety and security.
\n\tChecking and verifying through internal audit processes. inspection records and registers of testing equipment and instruments against standards stipulated by laws and regulations;
\n\tPromoting and enhancing of a safe and crime free society within the jurisdiction of the municipality and detecting crime prone areas, protection of the municipal assets\/ properties including staff and visitors;
\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, such as government officials, community leaders, and other organizations
\n\tOverseeing the execution and procurement of approved budgetary items to circumvent overexpenditure of votes and ensure that approved commodities are acquired in terms of the\u00a0Municipal Financial Management Act, 2003\u00a0
\n\tCommunicating with the Council\u2019s Financial Section on audit findings and recommendations and institute the necessary investigational or corrective measures.
\n\tLiaising with various departments and important stakeholders in crime combating and prevention, designing and initiating capacity building programs to enable the Municipality to better incorporate crime prevention issues into the IDP<\/p>\n
