\tProcess all underwriting administration transactions assigned, within the set standards required by the company thus contributing to the productivity of the underwriting department as set out within parameters delegated from time to time. Enhance the image of the company through the continuous delivery of efficient and effective customer service.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tTechnical expertise: Ensure that policy transactions (new business, endorsements, renewals, post loss, cancellations) are issued and changes recorded accurately and in a timely manner by rating and\/or capturing transactions to the core business system.
\n\tProcessing: Accurate and timely data capturing of new business, renewals, endorsements, declarations and post loss adjustments. Complete transactions within delegated authority limits and within set standards as per underwriting manual and service level agreements.
\n\tContinuous Process Improvement: Ensure full compliance to all processes, policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement.
\n\tCustomer service: Maintain a high level of service to customers (internal and external) according to service level agreements and within the service standards as set by the\u00a0
\n\tcompany.
\n\tService to brokers: Over and above normal underwriting processing duties such as technical advice and other assistance.<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge and Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nRequired Knowledge and Skills & Experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 years\u2019 Commercial Underwriting, AGRI and Hospitality, administration experience will be advantageous.
\n\tUnderwriting knowledge (ability to interpret policy wording)
\n\tInsurance terminology.
\n\tSound understanding of the TCF principles.
\n\tLegal knowledge (prescription act, insurance act, FAIS)
\n\tBasic risk assessment and product knowledge
\n\tReinsurance and treaties (basic understanding)
\n\tBasic financial knowledge (declarations, premiums, co-insurance)
\n\tSound attention to detail
\n\tSelf-management skills (can organize workspace, time\u2026)
\n\tRelationship management skills (have the right approach with the right people)\u00a0<\/p>\n
