\tCoca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Manufacturing Department. We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Health and Safety Controller role, which is based in Phoenix.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Duties & Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nHealth and Safety Compliance and Monitoring<\/p>\n
\tMonitor plant activities to ensure adherence to Coca-Cola\u2019s KORE standards and legal safety regulations.
\n\tIdentify unsafe conditions and behaviours; escalate and follow up on corrective actions.<\/p>\n
Risk Assessment and Control Implementation<\/p>\n
\tSupport execution of baseline and task-based risk assessments.
\n\tAssist in implementation and tracking of risk mitigation measures and safety controls.<\/p>\n
Inspections and Audits<\/p>\n
\tConduct routine safety inspections across all plant zones, documenting findings and tracking resolutions.
\n\tSupport the Health and Safety Business Partner during formal audits (internal and external) and site reviews.<\/p>\n
Incident Reporting and Follow-Up<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the logging, investigation, and follow-up of incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions using designated safety management systems.
\n\tSupport root cause analysis and documentation of preventative actions.<\/p>\n
Documentation and System Maintenance<\/p>\n
\tMaintain up-to-date records for safety incidents, risk assessments, safety data sheets, toolbox talks, and legal compliance files.
\n\tEnsure all legal appointments and health and safety plans are reviewed and current.<\/p>\n
Training and Engagement Support<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate scheduling and documentation of safety training sessions, induction programmes, and toolbox talks.
\n\tSupport safety campaigns and awareness initiatives at the plant<\/p>\n
Contractor Safety Oversight<\/p>\n
\tEnsure contractor H&S documentation is validated and filed prior to work commencement.
\n\tMonitor contractor adherence to safety standards during site activities.<\/p>\n
Emergency Readiness<\/p>\n
\tAssist in maintaining emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, spill kits, first aid boxes) and documentation.
\n\tParticipate in emergency drills and contribute to preparedness planning.<\/p>\n
Skills, Experience & Education\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nEducation<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (required)
\n\tRegistered with SACPCMP or relevant OHS professional body is an advantage
\n\tSAMTRAC or equivalent certification preferred<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t3\u20135 years of experience in a safety-related role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
\n\tExperience with OHS systems, safety inspections, contractor management, and compliance documentation
\n\tFamiliarity with South African OHS legislation and Department of Employment and Labour requirements<\/p>\n
Skills<\/p>\n
\tWorking knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk management practices
\n\tProficient in MS
\n\tExperience using EHS software or incident management tools (advantageous)
\n\tStrong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse teams
\n\tAbility to work shifts and respond to safety issues as needed<\/p>\n
