\n\tWe\u2019re on the lookout for an\u00a0Technician \u2013 Outside Services\u00a0to\u00a0support\u00a0Outside Services and Farm Operations Superintendents in water, effluent, sewage treatment and solid waste handling operations.
\n\tDaily monitoring of plant performance and specifications to DWAF, SABS and ISO standards, including various administrative and performance monitoring \/ improvement tasks.<\/p>\n
As an Technician \u2013 Outside Services you will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
Operational Excellence<\/p>\n
\tSupport Outside Services and Farm Operations in achieving production and environmental objectives.
\n\tRecommend maintenance, upgrades, and improvements to optimise plant performance and resource utilisation.
\n\tAssist in executing plant activities (start-ups, shuts, inspections, log sheets, trending) to maintain stability and quality.
\n\tMonitor water, effluent, sewage, and stormwater systems to ensure compliance and take corrective action when required.
\n\tConduct sampling, analysis, and reporting for soil, landfill temperature, waste, river flows, and bacteriological counts.
\n\tManage and control raw materials (e.g., chlorine, alum, lime, polymers, caustic) to support continuous operations.
\n\tProvide technical support for environmental performance improvement projects and process modifications.
\n\tParticipate in audits, coordinate RCA processes, and assist in closing out action items for Outside Services and the Farm.
\n\tProvide operational support to Sewage and Water Treatment Plants, including borehole sampling coordination.
\n\tPerform standby duties and act in the Superintendent role when required.<\/p>\n
Safety & Environmental Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with SHEQ requirements, investigate incidents, and drive corrective actions.
\n\tMaintain high housekeeping standards (5S) and support legal compliance for water, waste, and air-emissions licences.
\n\tConduct BBS observations, report near misses, and promote a strong safety culture.<\/p>\n
Customer Relations<\/p>\n
\tCommunicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding incidents and service concerns.
\n\t\u00a0Address customer feedback promptly and implement corrective actions where necessary.<\/p>\n

What are we looking for?<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Science, or an equivalent field.
\n\tBTech \/ BSc \/ BEng in Chemical Engineering will be an added advantage.
\n\tNQF Level 4 Water and Wastewater Treatment qualification is advantageous.
\n\tValid Code 10 driver\u2019s license.
\n\tAt least 2 years\u2019 experience in water and wastewater treatment operations.<\/p>\n
