Job Description:<\/p>\n
\tContribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation, health, safety, environmental, security policies, and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion.
\n\tResponsible for winder control and electrical systems, including but not limited to: Compressor control and electrical systems, Shaft and shaft station control and electrical systems, Updating of all electrical documentation (drawings, equipment database and datasheets) & Switching and preventative maintenance tasks on MV equipment in accordance to policies and procedures.\u00a0
\n\tExercise sound expert judgment with regards to repair versus replacement versus upgrade of components.
\n\t\u00a0Align with planned maintenance schedules, including maintenance of relevant records for all winder and electrical equipment and electrical installations in area of responsibility.
\n\tPerform all activities according to instructions, procedures and engineering needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This role is in the VUP Engineering department at a CL level reporting to the Senior Electrical Foreman.<\/p>\n

Formal qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ N3 \/ Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification with Mathematics and Physical Science
\n\tTrade Certificate:\u00a0Electrician
\n\tMQA \u2013 Medium Voltage (MV) and winder competent<\/p>\n
Role-specific knowledge:<\/p>\n
\t5 Years continuous experience in electrical maintenance of which a minimum of 3 years must be winder and shaft related experience
\n\tMedium Voltage (MV) and Winder competent
\n\tExperience on ACS 6000 or similar drive systems would be preferred
\n\tExperience on Safety Integrity Level (SIL) rated installations would be preferred
\n\tSound knowledge and experience of Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to field of work
\n\tSkills to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical systems and major equipment within area of responsibility
\n\tPlease note:\u00a0 Will be expected of all successful candidates to undergo training regarding the winder system at the mine.
\n\tValid EB \/ Code 8 Drivers License
\n\t\u00a0Computer literacy \u2013 MS Office Suite
\n\tBe prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, callouts, and work overtime
\n\tAbility to work at heights and in confined spaces
\n\t\u00a0Successfully obtain a Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground inclusive of passing HTS (Heat Tolerance Screening)
\n\tThe post is dependent on the successful completion of the Company\u2019s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications\u2019 verification, relevant psychometric assessments, and a clear security clearance<\/p>\n
