Purpose of the Job<\/p>\n
\tTo provide functional and technical support for financial systems by empowering users, enhancing business processes, and maintaining the integrity of the ERP system. The incumbent will support system implementation, optimization, and compliance, ensuring that financial information is reliable and accessible across the institution.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tNQF Level 7 qualification in Finance or Commerce with ERP system certification, OR
\n\tPostgraduate Certificate in Project Management, Database Design\/Implementation, or ERP Administration, OR
\n\tBachelor\u2019s Degree in Information Systems or IT with postgraduate certificates in Financial Management and Project Management
\n\t5\u20138 years\u2019 experience in a financial environment, including 3 years on an ERP Financial Module (FI)
\n\tSupervisory experience will be an advantage
\n\tKnowledge of the Higher Education sector and its financial systems will be an advantage<\/p>\n

Key Competencies<\/p>\n
\tProven background in accounting and financial processes
\n\tStrong understanding of ERP systems, relational databases, and reporting tools
\n\tAdvanced MS Excel skills, including VBA
\n\tKnowledge of ICT Governance, Project Management, and Change Control standards
\n\tUnderstanding of financial legislation, the Higher Education Act, and public funding principles
\n\tFamiliarity with database design, data structures, and system integration
\n\tAbility to support and train users while driving process improvement<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tContribute to the development and implementation of Financial Systems strategy and ERP solutions
\n\tTranslate user requirements into system design and implementation plans
\n\tSupport ERP configuration, testing, and user acceptance processes
\n\tManage transactions and month-end closures within ERP systems
\n\tProvide system training, maintenance, and troubleshooting for users
\n\tEnsure compliance with ICT governance, project management, and change control procedures
\n\tLiaise with ICTS to resolve technical and data-related issues
\n\tRetrieve and manage historical data from legacy systems
\n\tIdentify and mitigate risks related to financial system operations
\n\tEnsure compliance with statutory and reporting requirements
\n\tSupport the month-end reconciliation process and ensure accurate reporting
