An international Seed Producer is seeking the above to be responsible for ensuring product development and the introduction and sales of the total vegetable assortment in a specified region, taking into account the commercial strategy in order to achieve the highest possible market share for the varieties in this area.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements for the role:<\/p>\n
\tMust have a relevant tertiary qualification (A university degree in agriculture or equivalent)
\n\tMinimum 3-5 years\u2019 relevant work experience in sales in the horticulture industry
\n\tPrevious experience with fruit and vegetable crops would be ideal
\n\tKnow-how of sales techniques and product development is essential
\n\tMust have good analytical and interpersonal skills
\n\tMust have the ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships
\n\tDemonstrate strong negotiation and communication skills
\n\tMust have a valid driver\u2019s license and be willing to travel
\n\tFluency in Afrikaans and English (Read, Write, Speak)<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tPerforming offline and online sales and promotion of vegetable varieties according to commercial objectives.
\n\tBuilding strong customer-focused networks by visiting growers, plant raisers, dealers, and supply chain partners.
\n\tFollowing up on leads obtained through online lead generation.
\n\tProviding detailed technical cultivation advice to growers, plant raisers, and distributors.
\n\tAssisting in the collection of overdue accounts.
\n\tDealing promptly with potential complaints.
\n\tPreparing sales planning and reporting progress to management.
\n\tUploading sales forecasts per variety, including modifications, with a view to production planning.
\n\tMaintaining customer records using CRM systems.
\n\tIssuing weekly reports on performed activities, sales opportunities in the area, and competitor activities.
\n\tOrganizing and following variety trials.
\n\tCollecting feedback from clients regarding variety traits and preferences.
\n\tReporting on trials and indicating commercial opportunities.
\n\tParticipating in local crop meetings and contributing input related to the area and crops.
\n\tCo-organizing local demo days and actively participating in field days, exhibitions, and seminars.
\n\tActively contributing to the company\u2019s presence on online marketing channels.
\n\tCollaborating in drafting online content, leaflets, catalogues, newsletters, and advertising by providing input.
\n\tGathering market information about the area, clients, and crops.
\n\tProactively contributing to and communicating about the development of digital services.
\n\tIdentifying digital needs of customers and translating these into internal development requests.
\n\tIntroducing new digital services and strategies to customers.
\n\tSupporting customers in using digital services and making purchases.
\n\tAligning online and offline sales and marketing activities.
\n\tManaging communication with relevant stakeholders.
\n\tEnsuring that management and logistical departments are informed about sales progress and orders.
\n\tMaintaining close contact with trial coordinators and crop specialists to stay informed about challenges and bottlenecks in crops under responsibility.<\/p>\n
