\tSappi Tugela Mill\u00a0based in\u00a0Mandeni, KZN,\u00a0requires\u00a0a\u00a0Operator : Relief(Machineman\/Foreman)\u00a0to operate a paper machine production unit to ensure maximum production, plant availability, quality standards and operating staff to conform to best-operating practices.
\n\tThis role reports to the\u00a0Production Foreman (paper).<\/p>\n
The main responsibilities of this job are:<\/p>\n
\tTakes and hands over the shift.
\n\tPrepares plant for start-up, and operates the plant.
\n\tEnsure the correct supply of stock to the production unit.
\n\tEnsure maximum use of machine clothing and change when required
\n\tMonitors plant by conducting detailed checks on plant equipment and reports deviations to Engineering staff.
\n\tMonitors the papermaking process in respect of quality and takes corrective action where necessary.
\n\tMonitors raw materials usage against standard recipes on the machine and takes corrective action.
\n\tImplement Foreman\u2019s shift plan.
\n\tImplement the production activities to sustain quality standards and plant efficiency.
\n\tProvide process controller with plant information in order to set up a plant for optimum quality and performance.
\n\tMonitor paper throughout the process to ensure that it meets the customers\u2019 requirements.
\n\tUse the Pit Stop risk information board to manage risk on the machine.
\n\tCoach team members toward a better understanding of plant operating procedures.
\n\tProvide accurate information\/ inputs for the production statistics and appropriate action is taken.
\n\tCompletes SAP notifications
\n\tIdentify inefficiencies in Best Operating Practices.
\n\tCompletes Isolation procedure records & spill reports (environmental).
\n\tUnderstands the SHEQ requirements of the Section.
\n\tMonitor subordinate\u2019s performance against SHEQ requirements and correct non-conformances.
\n\tInvestigates incidents (SHEQ) and identifies root causes of Non-Conformances and corrects deviations.
\n\tMaintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate should have:<\/p>\n
\tMatric and\/or N3 Pulp and Paper (4 subjects)
\n\tMinimum\u00a03 years\u00a0experience working on a paper machine manufacturing process
\n\tComputer Literacy (MS Office) and SAP knowledge will be advantageous
\n\t2 years Supervisory experience would be advantageous<\/p>\n
