IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to \u00a0 develop this \u201cmine of the future\u201d. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.<\/p>\n
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or equivalent
\n\tCompetent A&B certificate is a requirement
\n\tBlasting Certificate (DMRE\/MQA Level 3)<\/p>\n
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:<\/p>\n
\tA minimum of one-year experience as a Crew Captain.
\n\t5 years’ experience in a trackless mining environment.<\/p>\n
The Role requirements include, but not be limited to:<\/p>\n
\tEnsures the crew adheres to required PPE.
\n\tSets up pneumatic drilling machinery and moves lever controlling drilling action to drill blast holes in tunnel heading according to spacing, angle, and depth of hole specified by supervisor and tunnel heading.
\n\tConduct accident and incidents investigations and implement necessary precautions to avoid recurrence.
\n\tCommunicate the daily mining plans to the crew.
\n\tAllocation of responsibilities to the crew.
\n\tDrills and blasts earth and rock excavations to construct underground shafts and tunnels for projects.
\n\tProvision of required support to the crew when necessary.
\n\tConducts risk assessments.
\n\tMarking off of support.
\n\tCharging up the face and safe blasting.
\n\tProvide information to the control room for the compilation of shift\/work reports.
\n\tLegal accountability for stopping panel\/ development end and blasting in terms of the MHSA.
\n\tWork in an underground zone.
\n\tPerform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
