Requirements<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 certificate (Std 10) required or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
\n\tProficiency in English (spoken, read, and written) as well as any additional language.
\n\tMust be physically fit (fitness test to be conducted).
\n\tChainsaw and Brushcutter experience, attach certificate or competency.
\n\tExperience in horse riding, working at a Stable and saddling horses.<\/p>\n
Added Advantage:<\/p>\n
\tExposure to nature conservation related work (invasive plant clearing, integrated fire management that includes wildfire suppression, implementation of firebreaks, prescribed burns).
\n\tBasic Firefighting Certificate.
\n\tKnowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act).
\n\tKnowledge of Laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards relevant to the field.
\n\tCertificate in Basic First Aid.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tTo assist in identifying and reporting horse related ailments to the Stable Supervisors\/Horse Handler.
\n\tAssist with horse vaccinations, feeding, medical care and grooming when needed.
\n\tGeneral maintenance at the Stable and upkeep of terrain, gardens, cleanliness of the paddocks, clean\/cut grass around the Stables and Offices
\n\tTo ensure riding equipment \u2013 saddles and bridles are cleaned and maintained.
\n\tAssist other Stables staff with Visitor outrides as needed.
\n\tAssisting with erecting and maintaining fences.
\n\tAssist on wildfire suppression, conducting prescribed burns and preparation of fire breaks.
\n\tAssisting with soil erosion and invasive plant control.
\n\tInfrastructure maintenance including buildings, hiking trails, and signage.
\n\tTo ensure a high level of OHS practices are applied.<\/p>\n
