Purpose of Job<\/p>\n
\tTo oversee the engineering maintenance processes within the appointed area of responsibility to enable various mining teams to reach production targets within the principles of QCDSM<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tManage and carry out engineering and maintenance strategies and overhaul plans on a day to day basis that ensure that departments KPI’s are met deliver maintenance, if and when to replace \/ repair equipment.
\n\tManage maintenance cost vs R\/t in appointed area Maintenance budget.
\n\tEnsure availability of equipment by effectively managing downtime \/ shift \/ MTTF \/ MTTR (infrastructure and inspection equipment).
\n\tEnsure adherence to maintenance programme.
\n\tImplements operational projects, ensures engineering compliance, develops and implements engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOP in appointed area of responsibility.
\n\tEnsures adherence to Engineering principles and legislation.
\n\tCompliance to engineering governance bodies (standardisation committees) SOP \/ COP implementation and adherence.
\n\tAssess economics \/ engineering viability of no major engineering business cases and provides specific, inspection expertise and coaching.
\n\tManage delivery against OE initiatives.
\n\tCarry out condition monitoring programs in appointed area of responsibility. Compliance to Condition monitoring program schedules.
\n\tConduct failure trend analysis and root cause elimination.
\n\tExecution of Predictive Maintenance recommendations (backlog).
\n\tSupport departments to achieve set targets by coordinating planning within appointed area of responsibility.
\n\tControl costs to ensure production volumes are achieved within budget.
\n\tEnsure best in class safety performance and continuous improvement of key safety metrics to maintain required RCR.
\n\tEnsure SHE compliance rates vs. targets (especially major findings, % outstanding actions on findings) Zero harm, Zero fatalities, LWDCR.
\n\tEnsure the effective recruitment, training, coaching and career development.
\n\tManage vacancy rates against staff establishment (vacancies incl. Absence due to TSD \/ PSD, AWOP, Successors for critical positions).
\n\tManage team bearing in mind key role turnover rate vs. industry average, absenteeism, employee engagement and enablement score (%, Tons\/man\/year, Monthly bonus targets) training days for department.

\tNational Senior Certificate \/ N3 with Mathematics, Physical \/ Engineering Science and English\/Business English
