\tThe University of Zululand (UNIZULU) is currently seeking to employ an accomplished Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Institutional Support. The appointee will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the human, administrative, technological and other resource management functions in the following portfolios: (a) Protection and Security Services, Communication and Marketing, (c) Student Services, (d) Supply Chain Management, and Information and Communications Technology of the University \u2013 thereby ensuring efficiency, accountability, and sustainability in alignment with the mission and vision of UNIZULU. The incumbent is responsible for operations across both campuses of the University.
\n\tThe successful incumbent will be required to implement higher education and institutional policies, processes, and systems to ensure quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability in relation to physical, financial, and human resources. This includes strengthening systems for campus integration, the process of organisational culture enhancement for optimal service provision to all the stakeholders of the university.
\n\tThis will be a five (5) year fixed-term appointment with possible renewal for a further term of five years, subject to satisfactory work performance. A competitive total annual remuneration package, including benefits, will be offered to the successful candidate.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
\nQualifications<\/p>\n
\tA Doctoral Degree relevant to Institutional Support.
\n\tPossession of a Business Leadership \/ Project Management Qualification will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience, Skills, and Competencies<\/p>\n
\tAt least ten (10) years\u2019 relevant experience, five of which must have been at a senior management level. Experience in a Higher Education Environment will be an advantage.
\n\tProven experience and skills in successfully managing the facilities and delivery services in a complex multi-site institution.
\n\tEvidence of successful experience in project management, including proven ability to work with multiple constituencies and drive efforts spanning a wide range of functions.
\n\tStrong planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
\n\tNegotiation and communication and financial management, and budgeting skills.
\n\tKnowledge of and experience in policy and strategy development and implementation in all areas of this portfolio.<\/p>\n
