\tB Tech Cost and Management
\n\tAccounting\/CIMA\/ B Comm Honours Accounting
\n\tKnowledge of ERP systems – SAP advantageous
\n\tA minimum of 3-5 years’ cost accounting
\n\tExperience in a manufacturing environment<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nProduct Costing<\/p>\n
\tManage and update standard cost of all products
\n\tLiaise with Planning & Logistics to ensure product costs are updated for changes to Bill of Materials
\n\tReview changes to Bills of Materials on a monthly basis for validity
\n\tEstablish yearly standard and review labour and overhead rate variances for the plant
\n\tAssist with annual budget preparation (product costs, overhead rates)<\/p>\n
Cost Accounting<\/p>\n
\tMonthly Work in Progress valuation
\n\tAnalyse production variances, obtain explanations and determine corrective action plans
\n\tMonitor and report on progress against agreed action plans
\n\tMonthly review of process orders and relevant status
\n\tReview monthly factory overhead spend versus budget, highlight variances and discuss with relevant cost centre manager
\n\tIncorporate changes in overhead rates\/allocations into product cost model
\n\tParticipate in half yearly and annual stock counts<\/p>\n
Management Accounting<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse price variances on a monthly basis and report to management
\n\tReview inventory holding on a monthly basis, highlight slow moving and embargoed inventory items and ensure required provisions are raised
\n\tInventory reporting and explanation of movements
\n\tMonthly reporting on stock write offs
\n\tPreparation of Journal entries
\n\tPrepare general ledger reconciliations for accounts under your control
\n\tEnsure monthly statistical data is compiled and reported to Statistics SA in stipulated timeframe
\n\tIdentify areas for improvement and recommendations on how to improve overall cost effectiveness within the business<\/p>\n
