Key Purpose of the Role<\/p>\n
\tTo develop, implement and oversee robust Quality Assurance (QA) and food safety systems across the organisation, ensuring product compliance, effective incident management, strong supplier quality oversight, and alignment with regulatory and industry requirements.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBTech Degree in Food Technology (or equivalent).
\n\tMinimum 10 years\u2019 FMCG Food Industry experience, including at least 5 years in Retail.
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 senior management experience.
\n\tStrong knowledge of Food Safety & Hygiene regulations (FDCA, HACCP, PAS96, PRPs, GFSI).
\n\tISO 9001 understanding.
\n\tExcellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking capability.
\n\tStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.
\n\tExperience across Processed meat is required<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tYou will work closely with stakeholders at all levels\u2014from store teams to Group Executives\u2014as well as regulators, suppliers, laboratories, government bodies, and industry forums.<\/p>\n

Strategic Leadership<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and execute the organisation\u2019s QA & Food Safety strategy.
\n\tDrive long-term improvements that reduce recalls, severe incidents, and operational risks.<\/p>\n
Quality Management Systems<\/p>\n
\tEstablish and maintain an integrated Quality Management System (QMS).
\n\tOversee internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
Governance, Compliance & Regulation<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international regulations.
\n\tLead governance oversight, audits, surveys, and corrective\/preventive action plans.<\/p>\n
Supplier & Product Quality Oversight<\/p>\n
\tOversee supplier quality standards for national brands, confined label products, service providers and GNFR.
\n\tLead investigation and management of all product quality and food safety incidents, including full accountability for withdrawals and recalls.<\/p>\n
Product Testing & Data Analytics<\/p>\n
\tManage microbiological, chemical, and physical testing programmes.
\n\tAnalyse QA data and trends to drive improvements and inform decision-making.<\/p>\n
Training & Capability Building<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and oversee QA and Food Safety training across the organisation.<\/p>\n
Additional Technical Requirement: Processed Meat Factory Experience<\/p>\n
Given Boxer\u2019s operational environment and product mix, candidates must demonstrate strong technical experience within a processed meat factory environment, including:<\/p>\n
\tDeep understanding of processed meat production, food safety risks, and compliance requirements.
\n\tExperience managing product quality systems (FSSC22000), microbiological risks, and regulatory standards specific to processed meats.
\n\tAssist the factory Quality Assurance Manager on all related quality assurance, incident investigations, and supplier\/production facility compliance.<\/p>\n
