To conduct out-reach activities in the PWID community by providing current accurate health information, mobilisation of PWID\u2019s to access health services, and linkage to care services.<\/p>\n

\tGrade 10\u00a0
\n\tPeer educators should be ex or current people who have used or injected drugs as they are a \u2018peer\u2019 and have therefore experienced the context, and challenges faced by PWID\/PWUD
\n\tMinimum 1 years\u2019 work experience in the PWID Community or experience as a peer educator
\n\tAble to read and write legibly in English
\n\tProficiency in isiTswane, Afrikaans\/ English and any South African language
\n\tClear criminal record<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDistribution of harm reduction packs and safer sex commodities
\n\tSafely collecting used injecting equipment in sharps bins from outreach areas and communities
\n\tProvide accurate health information to PWID\/PWUD on harm reduction and safe injecting practices, HIV\/AIDS, Hepatitis, TB, SRH and human rights
\n\tLink and or refer PWID\/PWUD living with HIV or TB for treatment to the mobile nurse\/ drop in centre or nearest health facility
\n\tEnsure HIV negative PWID\/PWUD are regularly tested and are encouraged to uptake PrEP as HIV prevention method.
\n\tPromote psychological support, referral to social services and follow-up
\n\tRecruit PWID\/PWUD for Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) and complete eligibility criteria
\n\tIdentify women who inject drugs and provide dignity packs<\/p>\n
