Job Summary<\/p>\n
\tThis role involves handling all point-of-sale transactions, including processing payments, issuing receipts, and balancing cash drawers, while ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. The Cashier will also assist with stock control, maintain a clean and organised checkout area, and provide excellent customer service.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n
\tBag, box, wrap merchandise and prepare packages for shipment
\n\tCompute and record transactions
\n\tCount money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
\n\tSort, count and wrap notes and coins
\n\tEstablish or identify prices of goods and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers or optical scanners
\n\tGreet customers entering establishments
\n\tIssue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
\n\tKeep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions
\n\tReceive payment by cash or card
\n\tMaintain clean and orderly checkout areas
\n\tStock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items
\n\tDo stock takes<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12
\n\tComputer literate
\n\tPrevious cashier experience
\n\tAbility to work with money
\n\tAbility to work with customers
\n\tGood interpersonal skills<\/p>\n
