\u00a0Minimum Criteria Required:<\/p>\n
\tRegistration in relevant discipline with HPCSA
\n\tMatric with English and a pass in Maths (Not Math Literacy), Physical Science or Biology (Life Sciences)<\/p>\n

\u00a0Key Performance Areas:<\/p>\n
\tAttends formal training programme offered by organisation, including attendance of lectures and training (on and off site), rotation for practical training, submission of assignments and writing of Health Professions Council (HPCSA) board examination, to meet contractual obligations of student contract.
\n\tDiligently pursues studies to become competent in a range of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that cover the entire field of study which is drawn from all knowledge and practical experience gained during training period.
\n\tPerforms diagnostic testing procedures, to provide all relevant data that may pertain to the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of diseases.
\n\tOperates, maintains and calibrates the equipment used in the laboratory to ensure that it is operating efficiently and providing accurate results. This includes recording instrument maintenance and quality control results as well as recognising and resolving problems by troubleshooting mal functioning equipment and taking corrective action (under supervision of an experienced medical technologist)
\n\tImplements sound housekeeping procedures and work effectively with others as a member of a team to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with safety protocols. This includes the on-going maintenance of quality control standards, adherence to infection control measures and participation (as per delegated responsibilities) in the preparation process for internal and external audits.
\n\tRepresents the organisation by applying the principles of customer care of Lancet Laboratories in the medical pathology field and interacts professionally and ethically with patients, clients, doctors and other hospital staff.
\n\tReports incidents, logs customer complaints and problem solution, reads documents and actions tasks on the laboratory information management system in compliance with relevant organisational policy.
\n\tAdheres to professional conduct requirements in line with organisational policy and relevant professional body ethical standards.<\/p>\n
