KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Daily Forklift Operation:<\/p>\n
\tSafely operate forklifts to transport pallets within the facility, from receiving areas to storage locations and loading docks.
\n\tLoad and unload pallets from delivery trucks and containers.
\n\tEnsure proper handling of fruit pallets to prevent damage and maintain quality.
\n\tIdentify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies to the supervisor team.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tAssist in inventory tracking by scanning and recording pallet movements using warehouse management systems (WMS).\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Quality Control & Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
\n\tConduct and complete daily inspections and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
\n\tMaintain high standards of housekeeping.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tEnsure doors to the cold storage remain closed when not in use to maintain temperature integrity.<\/p>\n
Team Collaboration:<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate with warehouse staff, quality control teams, and drivers to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
\n\tAssist with general warehouse duties as needed.<\/p>\n
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR<\/p>\n
Someone with:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
\n\tRelevant certifications (Forklift Certification)
\n\tMinimum of 1-5 years of operating experience, preferably in a cold storage environment.
\n\tExperience in the fruit export industry is preferred.<\/p>\n
Skills & Competencies:<\/p>\n
\tEffective communication and teamwork skills.
\n\tAbility to operate warehouse management systems (WMS) or scanners.
\n\tStrong attention to detail and accuracy.
\n\tBeing able to follow instructions accurately and in a timely manner is important
\n\tAbility to read and understand despatch and receiving documents, and safety guidelines.
\n\tExcellent hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision.
\n\tEfficient individual with excellent time management skills<\/p>\n
