\tA leading provider in the Automotive Services industry has an opportunity for a Road Patrol Technician, based in Durban
\n\tThe Road Patrol Technicianis responsible for delivering a high standard of roadside assistance to AA members. The role focuses on providing effective and efficient breakdown support to both individual and corporate customers, in line with the AA’s reputation as a leading provider of emergency roadside services in Southern Africa<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAssist AA members at roadside breakdowns in urban and rural areas by conducting minor mechanical repairs or arranging towing and recovery services where required
\n\tDiagnose vehicle faults and provide practical roadside solutions to enable members to continue their journey
\n\tSell and fit batteries where the existing battery is faulty or out of warranty
\n\tRender additional vehicle-related assistance to members when appropriate
\n\tEnsure all tools, equipment, and patrol vehicles are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition
\n\tSafeguard AA vehicles, tools, and equipment at all times
\n\tComplete all administrative duties accurately and timeously
\n\tMaintain a professional and presentable image in line with AA brand standards
\n\tUphold safe and responsible driving behaviour at all times
\n\tPerform any other related duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Regional (Depot) Manager<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
Education and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 (essential)
\n\tMotor Mechanical or Auto Electrical qualification and\/or equivalent
\n\tMinimum of three (3) years’ vehicle diagnostic working experience
\n\tExposure to a sales environment
\n\tAdvanced driving certificate<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills<\/p>\n
\tMotor vehicle diagnostic and mechanical skills
\n\tBasic administrative and financial understanding
\n\tKnowledge of organisational structures, policies, procedures, and regulations
\n\tStrong navigational and time management skills
\n\tExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills
\n\tSafety-conscious approach to work
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and respond effectively to roadside emergencies<\/p>\n
Other<\/p>\n
\tA valid Code C1 (10) or Code EC\/EC1 (14) driver’s licence (essential)
\n\tA valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) (advantageous)
\n\tWillingness and ability to work shifts in line with operational requirements
\n\tOwn reliable transport to and from the workplace premises
\n\tAbility to work in urban and rural environments
\n\tPhysically fit and able to perform roadside assistance duties
\n\tWillingness to adhere to AA policies, procedures, and brand standards<\/p>\n
