Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tThe role of a Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; whilst providing overall support to Academic department.<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tPresenting content in a classroom environment (online or physical, as required)
\n\tArranging for consultations with students.
\n\tResults analysis at a modular level.
\n\tMarking assessments and providing constructive feedback
\n\tEmploying interventions for at-risk students.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
Qualifications \u2013<\/p>\n
\tB.Ed Hons degree In Early childhood development and learning
\n\tB.Ed degree in foundation phase\u00a0<\/p>\n
Experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
\t1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation
\n\t1 to 3 years lecturing\/ tutoring experience.
\n\tSolid understanding of the South African Further Education and Higher Education environment and regulatory framework
\n\tTeaching-Learning theory
\n\tAssessment methods and processes
\n\tTeaching-Learning interventions
\n\tHolistic lecturer and student support services<\/p>\n
Key Competencies (Academic):<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.
\n\tThe ability to provide student support services.
\n\tThe ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
\n\tThe ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
\n\tAbility to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
\n\tDeadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
\n\tAbility to manage time effectively.<\/p>\n
