\tTWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Silo Manager at Mkondo Silo within the Grain division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.<\/p>\n
Job Summary<\/p>\n
\tThis role involves managing the efficient operation of silo facilities at TWK Agri, Mkondo Silo, including grain intake, storage, quality control, and dispatch. The Silo Manager will oversee silo staff, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, maintain optimal storage conditions, and manage inventory levels. The position also requires coordinating maintenance activities and fostering strong communication with farmers and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely operations.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n
\tManage daily silo operations including grain intake, drying, grading, storage, and dispatch
\n\tEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
\n\tMonitor and maintain optimal storage conditions to prevent spoilage
\n\tOversee inventory management and ensure accurate stock records
\n\tCoordinate maintenance and servicing of silo equipment to minimise downtime
\n\tImplement cost control measures and manage silo operations within approved budgets
\n\tPrepare and submit accurate operational and inventory reports to senior management
\n\tLead and develop silo staff through training and performance management
\n\tEnsure timely and accurate dispatch of grain orders to meet customer requirements
\n\tMaintain compliance with HACCP and ISO food safety standards<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ Matric
\n\tRelevant certification in silo management, grain handling, or food safety
\n\tCertification in Grading, Fumigation & ISO
\n\tPostgraduate qualification in Agricultural Management or related field (advantageous)
\n\t7\u201310 years\u2019 experience in silo management, grain handling, and related agricultural operations
\n\tProven experience in team management and coordinating silo operations during peak seasons
\n\tStrong understanding of inventory management systems, silo equipment, and machinery maintenance
\n\tKnowledge of food safety standards and industry regulations related to grain handling and storage
\n\tFinancial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
\n\tExcellent leadership and team management skills
\n\tStrong organisational and problem-solving abilities
\n\tEffective communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders<\/p>\n
