\tThe position is vacant in KwaZulu-Natal Region.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tMatric\/Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
\n\tMechanical Engineering or Petrol and Diesel Mechanic\/ qualification N6
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s License with own reliable transport.
\n\tAt least 5 years\u2019 experience in managing a large mechanical automotive workshop
\n\tHand\u2019s on experience in stock control and equipment management
\n\tStaff management experience is required.
\n\tComputer literacy with working knowledge of the complete Microsoft package.
\n\tNo criminal record or any pending cases.
\n\tSound planning, administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
\n\tStrong leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
\n\tKnowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management and its requirements.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas: (not totally inclusive):\u00a0<\/p>\n
Controlling of repair and maintenance:<\/p>\n
\tCompare quotations.
\n\tAssessments of work to be conducted
\n\tMonthly feedback meetings on status of work and expenses
\n\tCheck that all repairs are captured in the FGT8 report (On AP).
\n\tManage mechanics and workshop staff.
\n\tSign off job cards
\n\tTest vehicles
\n\tAssess nature of repairs.
\n\tConduct assessment of completed work
\n\tTrain staff.
\n\tPlan workshop rosters.
\n\tMake sure that all fuel transactions are captured in the FGT6 report (On SAP).
\n\tVehicles must portray FSS image.
\n\tSubmit proposals on how to reduce costs.
\n\tBecome involved in mechanical repairs and hands-on scrutiny of mechanics\u2019 work<\/p>\n
Repair and maintenance service providers:<\/p>\n
\tObtain list of approved suppliers.
\n\tMonthly visits to service centers.
\n\tNegotiate better prices where possible.<\/p>\n
Vehicles inspections:<\/p>\n
\tWeekly inspections must be conducted with managers and Regional Fleet manager
\n\tCompletion of official vehicle checking list.
\n\tAll vehicles must have a spare wheel, jack, triangle, and wheel spanner.
\n\tCheck all license discs.
\n\tAll fleet numbers must be clearly visible.
\n\tObtain roadworthy and COF\u2019s certificates on all company vehicles where required.
\n\tEnsure neat and tidy workshop
\n\tEnsure maintenance of equipment
\n\tRepair and advise on replacement of equipment<\/p>\n
