An established company is looking for a professional and experienced Senior Accountant to support its finance function at head office level. The role is responsible for financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting consolidation, cash flow management, and oversight of accounting operations across multiple business units. The position requires strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on financial management experience, and the ability to work accurately under pressure while meeting strict reporting deadlines<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tAccounting BCom degree with completed Articles
\n\t5\u201310 years\u2019 related accounting experience
\n\tStrong knowledge of accepted accounting principles and practices
\n\tExperience in preparing management accounts and financial reports
\n\tKnowledge of statutory returns including Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, UIF, and Workman\u2019s Compensation
\n\tProven cash flow management experience
\n\tComputer literacy in accounting software, MS Excel, MS Word, and email
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly group management accounts and related financial reports
\n\tCompile operational and analytical reports across business units and regions
\n\tConsolidate annual budgets and manage budget inputs
\n\tPrepare and submit statutory returns in line with legislation and accounting standards
\n\tMaintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
\n\tMonitor and manage daily cash flow planning, control, and reporting
\n\tEstablish, implement, and monitor accounting control procedures
\n\tResolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
\n\tMaintain accurate financial databases and supporting working papers
\n\tLiaise with internal and external auditors during audits
\n\tManage, mentor, and evaluate finance subordinates
\n\tEnsure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
\n\tCommunicate financial information effectively to management and staff<\/p>\n
