{"id":27731,"date":"2026-01-05T18:00:22","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/manufacturing-excellence-manager\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T15:06:04","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T15:06:04","slug":"manufacturing-excellence-manager","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=27731","title":{"rendered":"Manufacturing Excellence Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>About the role:<\/p>\n<p>\tThe key purpose of this role is to implement, entrench and improve the use and effectiveness of MMS (manufacturing Management system) in the plant to driving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring plant standards are met through structured programs, loss analysis, and coaching teams on problem-solving for superior business results.<br \/>\n\tThis role focuses on integrating processes, reporting progress, and aligning with company-wide goals, requiring strong leadership, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tManaging the overall Manufacturing excellence program, setting plans, and tracking progress across all best practices (e.g. Safety, Quality, Maintenance \u2013 Asset Care, Autonomous maintenance, Focused improvement, 5S, Teamwork \u00a0etc).<br \/>\n\tProvide MMS subject matter expertise, offering strategic guidance at all Tiers<br \/>\n\tLead, coach and train team members to ensure consistency of approach and alignment of Diageo strategy with Site<br \/>\n\tLead and advocate good governance around internal and external compliance (health &amp; safety, quality and environment)<br \/>\n\tDelivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale)<\/p>\n<p>Role Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide expert loss &amp; waste leadership and coaching to operational teams.<br \/>\n\tGap &amp; Loss Analysis: Using data to identify losses and waste, then driving actions close those gaps.<br \/>\n\tCoaching &amp; Training: Guiding plant leadership and shopfloor teams on Manufacturing excellence methodologies and problem-solving techniques.<br \/>\n\tReporting &amp; Communication: Providing monthly\/quarterly updates to senior management and global leadership.<br \/>\n\tManufacturing excellence maturity Ownership: Serving as overall Manex Owner, coordinating with other best practices owners \/MANEX facilitators, head of departments to support departments in implementing MMS practices<br \/>\n\tMeeting Management: Ensure Plant&#8217;s routine meetings (LSW \u2013 leader standard work and DOR&#8217;s \u2013 daily operational routines) are documented and standardized.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and drive the implementation of the site plan at site and departmental level.<br \/>\n\tDrive site senior leadership team to follow the MMS process to ensure that practices and performance are embedded through sustainable, balanced deployment of the MMS tool set.<br \/>\n\tCoach managers at all levels to implement MMS methodologies to deliver highly reliable, high quality, safe and cost-effective results.<br \/>\n\tWork to maintain alignment between all parts of the site&#8217;s supply chain by coordinating all departments to work together in MMS deployment.<br \/>\n\tProvides guidance and support to the SSC for effective and aligned implementation of MMS<br \/>\n\tAs part of the site steering committee coaches&#8217; managers to develop teams at all levels to produce performance results through the MMS practices<br \/>\n\tAs part of the site senior leadership team sets clear improvement strategy for the site with clear objectives and leads the change management processes.<br \/>\n\tUnderstand the value chain implications of site\/department\/line issues. Provide &#8216;end to end&#8217; expert analysis<br \/>\n\tParticipate in and lead as required improvement projects using the relevant methodologies i.e. DMAIC methodology.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tParticipates fully and constructively at the DOR meetings to provide expert analysis of performance improvement opportunities<br \/>\n\tEnsures effective implementation of MMS training and development programmes and communications<\/p>\n<p>Experience \/ skills required:<\/p>\n<p>Entry level requirements \u2013 skills, experience and qualifications<\/p>\n<p>\tUniversity Degree level qualification in Industrial engineering\/ Operations Management, or related field.<\/p>\n<p>\tFormal Six sigma qualification (Advantageous)<\/p>\n<p>\tRelevant IBD qualification (General Certificate in Spirits\/Beer Packaging) (Advantageous)<\/p>\n<p>Experience (Essential)<\/p>\n<p>\tAt least 3 &#8211; 5 years in Manufacturing Excellence or Department leadership experience and a great track record in a world class Manufacturing \/ operational excellence, Continuous Improvement, or similar, (FMCG) (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environments.<br \/>\n\tProactive structured problem evaluation &amp; solving skills learnt through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manufacturing Excellence<br \/>\n\tProven ability to build a high-performance climate within large multi-disciplined teams by effectively setting performance standards and coaching and developing others to achieve them<br \/>\n\tProven track record as a great coach with strong engagement and communication skills<br \/>\n\tSound and proven financial acumen<br \/>\n\tProficient in use of standard business (MS Office)<\/p>\n<p>Experience (Desirable)<\/p>\n<p>\tHas led significant business change through people in a production led environment<br \/>\n\tundefined<\/p>\n<p>Critical Skills Required<\/p>\n<p>Excellence in Supply Chain<\/p>\n<p>\tIs experienced of working within the Performance Management structure of KPI\u2019s and Tier Review Meeting Structure<br \/>\n\tHas a proven track record in adherence to Core Process and Standards<br \/>\n\tDemonstrates role model behaviour and coaches others to follow a consistent approach and go beyond mandatory minimum requirements<br \/>\n\tProactively leverages the learning curriculums and materials on Diageo Academy and other sources to continuously grow and develop in role<br \/>\n\tA very deep knowledge of MMS<\/p>\n<p>Diversity statement:<\/p>\n<p>\tOur purpose is to celebrate life, every day, everywhere.
