PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\tThe role is responsible to ensure the continuous monitoring and the safety of our employees on all mineral processing facilities this will include the monitoring of pumping operations and water management activities.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Safety, Health , Environment and Quality<\/p>\n
\tConduct\u00a0 pre-shift meetings
\n\tAdhere to FAMP and client policies and procedures
\n\tPrevent spillages that can negatively influence the environment
\n\tMonitor dam, sump, trench, and pipeline levels to prevent flooding and uncontrolled discharge.
\n\tManage stormwater pumping during heavy rainfall and ensure readiness of standby pumps.<\/p>\n
Operations<\/p>\n
\tMaintain good housekeeping standards
\n\tMinimize downtime by proactive monitoring and quick response to alarms and failures.
\n\tOptimize quality outputs
\n\tCommunicate and report\u00a0 pump availability and constraints to control room operators and supervisors.
\n\tEnsure full equipment utilization.
\n\tEnsure all reporting requirements are met<\/p>\n
Maintenance<\/p>\n
\tInspect equipment in working area
\n\tEnsure daily inspections and checklists are completed by pump attendants.
\n\tCoordinate with maintenance and engineering teams during breakdowns and planned maintenance.
\n\tPrevent equipment damage through correct operation and early fault reporting.<\/p>\n
Managing a team<\/p>\n
\tSelect and appoint competent and passionate people
\n\tAssign work
\n\tMonitor performance
\n\tTrain and develop team members
\n\tLead and supervise pump attendants on shift to ensure continuous and efficient pump operation<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 with Maths and Science
\n\tBasic Coal Preparation Certificate (advantageous)<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3-5 years relevant Supervisory experience
\n\tKnowledge of crushing plants, (ROM Sections) including crushers, screens, belts, pit pumps and DMS coal wash plant with, all their operational maintenance<\/p>\n
