For appointment at Senior Lecturer level:<\/p>\n
Academic Route:<\/p>\n
\tA Doctoral degree in Law (Doctor of Laws or PhD in Law).
\n\tMinimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in a higher education institution, or at least seven (7) years of relevant professional experience.
\n\tA minimum of three (3) publications in accredited journals or book chapters.<\/p>\n
Professional Route:<\/p>\n
\tA Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
\n\tAdmission as an attorney or advocate.
\n\tAttorneys must provide proof of admission.
\n\tAdvocates must provide proof of admission and evidence of completed pupillage or practical legal training.
\n\tAt least ten (10) years of post-admission legal practice experience.
\n\tAppointments via the professional route will be on a five-year contract, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position upon completion of a doctoral degree within the contract period.<\/p>\n

Duties:<\/p>\n
\tTeach and assess undergraduate modules offered in the Department
\n\tActively participate in departmental and school activities, including committee work.
\n\tSenior Lecturer candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership within the Department of Public Law.
\n\tConduct research and supervise postgraduate students.
\n\tCoordinate academic programmes, contribute to curriculum development, build partnerships with other institutions and community organisations, and participate in community engagement initiatives.<\/p>\n
