{"id":28104,"date":"2026-01-09T10:02:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T10:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/engineering-services-manager-physical-asset-manager-data-centre-technician\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T00:25:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T00:25:31","slug":"engineering-services-manager-physical-asset-manager-data-centre-technician","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=28104","title":{"rendered":"Engineering Services Manager \n\n\n            \n\n            \n            Physical Asset Manager \n\n\n            \n\n            \n            Data Centre Technician"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<br \/>\nROLE PURPOSE<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure infrastructure services are maintained and operational to service standards specified.<br \/>\n\tMaintain availability of assets and building in accordance to specified standards.<br \/>\n\tSupport the planned maintenance programme in order to ensure business continuity incurs minimum downtime.<br \/>\n\tProactively manage the maintenance process and identify potential equipment \/ asset failure or problems.<br \/>\n\tProactively identify assets at end of life or in need to of upgrade for the purposes of consideration for capital investment plans.<br \/>\n\tInvestigate plant or equipment failure to establish root cause and recommend corrective actions.<br \/>\n\tProvide recommendations and where necessary oversight to re-active maintenance work to ensure that all work is carried out as per the work order and or specification and that quality standards are maintained<br \/>\n\tApprove proposals for new plant and equipment and provide specifications for the supply and installation in accordance with Barclay\u2019s standards and good engineering practice especially where such standards are not available.<br \/>\n\tProvide Specialist Technical knowledge and expertise to Facilities and Project Managers including supervision where necessary of works executed.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that assets are controlled, operated and to the necessary operational specifications.<br \/>\n\tProvide and undertake the appropriate incident management protocols and procedures in order to mitigate and prevent the client\u2019s business redundancy systems are always in full and correct operations.<br \/>\n\tUndertake, provide and maintain the execution of activities that will provide the necessary assurance of asset and building availability.<br \/>\n\tEngage with and maintain a cordial relationship with the various clients representatives.<\/p>\n<p>MAIN OUTPUTS<\/p>\n<p>\tOn time planning and execution of all Planned Maintenance<br \/>\n\tAvailability and reliability of regional assets and buildings.<br \/>\n\tManagement of breakdowns, planned outages and implementation root cause failure outcomes.<br \/>\n\tReporting and management of incidents<br \/>\n\tManagement and completion of reactive work and requests.<br \/>\n\tVacancy, employment equity and people development.<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS<br \/>\nThe Applicant must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<p>\tGrade 12 (matric)\u00a0<br \/>\n\tN6 Diploma in Engineering<br \/>\n\tCertified Data Centre Professional (Advantageous)<br \/>\n\tCode B Driver\u2019s License<br \/>\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in Electrical or Mechanical engineering<br \/>\n\tMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in Facilities management<br \/>\n\tStrong technical background and have good management and leadership skills<br \/>\n\tMaintenance engineering<br \/>\n\tPhysical Asset management<br \/>\n\tMaintenance tactics<br \/>\n\tOccupational Health and Safety act<br \/>\n\tFirst Line Management<br \/>\n\tFinance for non-financial managers<br \/>\n\tMicrosoft Office (advanced), SAP Knowledge<br \/>\n\tGeneral Health &amp;
