The Assistant Accountant supports the Finance function by delivering accurate financial information, assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring policy compliance, managing intra\u2011departmental charges, and providing analytical and administrative support to budget holders. The role contributes to the effective operation of the Finance team and supports the Senior Management Accountant and broader finance structures.
\n\tThis role is positioned within a service\u2011oriented finance environment that supports a diverse range of business units and stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Financial Administration & Controls<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly management accounts and support profit centre reporting.
\n\tReview accounts and process journals required for cost reallocations and corrections.
\n\tManage accruals, including monthly, half-year, and year\u2011end requirements.
\n\tEnsure employment costs and headcount data are accurately captured and aligned with policies.
\n\tMaintain compliance with all finance and corporate policies (transfer pricing, approvals, accruals, etc.).
\n\tProcess all IDC transactions accurately in SAP.<\/p>\n
Budgeting & Forecasting<\/p>\n
\tSupport budget holders through the annual budget and forecasting cycles.
\n\tEngage with and challenge budget owners to validate assumptions and cost requirements.
\n\tCollate headcount and calculate employment cost.
\n\tConsolidate and capture overhead allocations and intra\u2011departmental charges.
\n\tCapture budget and forecast data in SAP.<\/p>\n
Accounts Payable Support (as applicable)<\/p>\n
\tAssist with creation of purchase requisitions and orders.
\n\tSupport invoice processing, receipting, and resolving exceptions.
\n\tPerform monthly reconciliation on the Anglo vendor account and follow up on reconciling items.<\/p>\n
Reporting & Analysis<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly and ad\u2011hoc financial reports for management and stakeholders.
\n\tPerform variance analysis, highlight risks or opportunities, and engage stakeholders on corrective actions.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Support & Training<\/p>\n
\tProvide ongoing finance support to non\u2011finance managers.
\n\tTrain budget holders on financial processes and systems.
\n\tBuild strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\tBCom in Accounting (or equivalent).<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tFinance experience to profit\u2011centre\/accounting level.
\n\tExperience in budgeting and forecasting processes.
\n\tExperience in organisations with multiple service lines and cost allocations.
\n\tExperience in analysing, interpreting, and reporting on financial performance.
\n\tAccounts payable and procurement system experience.<\/p>\n
Knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tManagement and financial accounting principles.
\n\tSAP ERP system (highly advantageous).
\n\tIntermediate Excel and MS Office proficiency.
\n\tUnderstanding of corporate policies and financial governance.<\/p>\n
