Business Development NW, FS, NC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION<\/p>\n<p>\tTo identify, initiate, investigate, research and produce incisive journalism in English and Sesotho that is fair, accurate and compelling in accordance with SABC News and Current Affairs\u2019 editorial objectives and the public broadcasting mandate.<\/p>\n<p>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>\tConceptualise and produce stories for News and Current Affairs across platforms in accordance with SABC News\u2019 editorial objectives and public mandate.<br \/>\n\tPresent and produce a weekly diary of proposed stories to the Editor\/s.<br \/>\n\tConduct interviews and provide in-depth and comprehensive treatment of stories for SABC News\u2019 broadcasting and digital publishing platforms.<br \/>\n\tTo stand in\/act on the desk when the Assignment Editor is off or on leave.<br \/>\n\tProvide story leads to Editor\/s, break evidence-based stories, and coordinate interviews for various News and Current Affairs platforms as required.<br \/>\n\tAttend diary meetings and contribute to editorial discussions on self-initiated and other stories.<br \/>\n\tConduct primary investigations for original, incisive, and compelling content.<br \/>\n\tProfessionally live Tweet coverage of breaking and rolling events and stories.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all treatment of stories adheres to the SABC Editorial Policies, BCCSA and Press Council codes, as well as to all other broadcasting regulations and policies.<br \/>\n\tEnsure balance and appropriate contextualisation of stories.<br \/>\n\tSupport themed coverage and special productions with background information for depth and breadth.<br \/>\n\tContribute textual and audio-visual news items and features to the digital news platforms.<br \/>\n\tEnsure appropriate and audience-friendly visualisation of all numerical and textual data.<br \/>\n\tEmploy evidence-based insights to generate ground-breaking story ideas and angles.<br \/>\n\tWork with relevant research agencies, think tanks, and universities to enrich news production.<br \/>\n\tContribute to panel discussions on matters of journalistic and editorial interest.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with specialist researchers to deliver content-rich stories for all News and Current Affairs platforms.<br \/>\n\tFor TV, work closely with video journalists\/video editors to ensure visuals, interviews, and edited products are of the highest standard.<br \/>\n\tPerform post-production tasks as required, including but not limited to, ensuring the transcribing, editing, and final mixing of the story.<br \/>\n\tBe a reputable and trustworthy representative of SABC News and Current Affairs.<br \/>\n\tAdhere to the SABC Editorial Policies, BCCSA, and Press Council codes and ensure high-quality editorial and production standards.<br \/>\n\tAdhere and comply with the organisational policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\tObserve journalistic and editorial ethics, as well as craft protocols, and uphold SABC News and Current Affairs\u2019 integrity.<\/p>\n<p>REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n<p>\tNational Diploma\/ bachelor\u2019s degree in journalism \/ media studies \u2013 NQF 6\/7<br \/>\n\t8 years\u2019 experience in News and Current Affairs field reporting<br \/>\n\tA proven and demonstrable ability to produce for more than one broadcasting\/ publishing platform is a must (radio, television, digital)<br \/>\n\tA well-established and active digital media presence.<br \/>\n\tProven track record of exceptional journalistic performance.<br \/>\n\tAdvanced knowledge and understanding of News and Current Affairs production systems and processes.<br \/>\n\tAdvanced understanding of public broadcasting principles and obligations.<br \/>\n\tClear broadcast voice.<br \/>\n\tFluent in Sesotho and English.<br \/>\n\tThe ability to work under pressure, irregular hours and to tight deadlines is essential.<br \/>\n\tAdvanced computer skills (Microsoft, Internet, Dalet\/Dira\/Audacity and ENPS etc).<\/p>\n<p>Deadline:12th February,2026<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC (SOC) Limited, is a Schedule 2 (Major Public Entity) entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act NO. 1 of 1999, as amended.
