JOB PURPOSE:<\/p>\n
\tThe Security Officer is responsible for preventing unauthorized access, ensuring operational safety, and responding to security threats to maintain a secure and controlled environment within the CEF strategic installation classified as National Key Point.<\/p>\n
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
\tSenior Certificate (Grade 12)
\n\tMinimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in Security environment of with 2 years must have been a Security Guard in a NKP industry.
\n\tPSIRA (grade A or B) certificate
\n\tNational Key Point (NKP) Certificate and Level 1 valid First Aid Certificate will serve as an added advantage
\n\tComputer Literacy skills required
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license will serve as an added advantage.
\n\tClean Criminal record<\/p>\n

\tKnowledge in various security, legal, and operational aspects and legal aspects of security in the energy sector
\n\tSurveillance skills and access technology systems
\n\tRisk assessment and Communication skills

\n\tPhysically fit, attention to detail and crisis management skills
\n\tDiscreet, Observant and perceptive

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:<\/p>\n
Surveillance and Security Monitoring<\/p>\n
\tMonitor CCTV cameras, alarms, and security systems to detect and respond to any suspicious activity.
\n\tConduct routine patrols to ensure all security protocols are followed.
\n\tReport security breaches, unusual activities, or safety hazards to the relevant authorities.
\n\tEnsure compliance with company security policies and government regulations.<\/p>\n
VIP and Visitor Management<\/p>\n
\tProvide a professional and courteous presence at entry points, ensuring visitors are appropriately screened and directed.<\/p>\n
Access Control & Entry Management<\/p>\n
\tEnforce access control policies by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.
\n\tMaintain accurate visitor logs and records.
\n\tEnsure restricted areas are only accessed by authorized personnel.<\/p>\n
Emergency Preparedness & Response<\/p>\n
\tAssist in emergency evacuations, drills, and incident response.
\n\tMaintain familiarity with emergency procedures, including fire safety protocols and medical response.
\n\tApply minimum force principles when handling threats.
\n\tUse non-lethal weapons (batons, pepper spray, handcuffs) if required.
\n\tRespond effectively to riot control and civil unrest situations.<\/p>\n
General Security Support<\/p>\n
\tAssist employees with security concerns, such as lost badges or suspicious packages.<\/p>\n
Protection of critical infrastructure and assets<\/p>\n
\tSafeguard refinery pipelines, storage tanks, control rooms, and hazardous areas.
\n\tPrevent sabotage, vandalism, and unauthorized interference with operations.
\n\tEnsure compliance with National Key Point security measures.<\/p>\n
