KEY PERFORMANCE AREA<\/p>\n
\t\ufeffMaintain, repair, and install plumbing systems and related fixtures and components.
\n\tRepair piping of various sizes and types.
\n\tCheck safety equipment and replace components such as washers, gaskets, and filters.
\n\tInspect, repair, and replace pumps, valves, and boiler systems.
\n\tMonitor work performed by external contractors to ensure compliance with Plumbing Code requirements and report to the Supervisor.
\n\tInstall supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
\n\tAssemble and install valves and fittings.Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and controls.
\n\tInstall, repair, and maintain water heaters and water conditioning systems.
\n\tInstall, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim.
\n\tTest pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
\n\tEnsure all installations, repairs, and maintenance comply with applicable codes and environmental protection requirements.
\n\tMaintain accurate service and repair records.
\n\tResearch, purchase, and maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
\n\tRespond to routine and emergency repair calls.
\n\tTrain and direct the work of other classified staff within the department.
\n\tAssist and provide backup support to other Facilities employees as required.
\n\tKeep accurate records of time spent on jobs and materials used.
\n\tDiagnose plumbing issues and carry out necessary repairs.Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent breakdowns and emergencies.
\n\tCoordinate with general contractors and other building professionals on job sites.
\n\tInterpret and follow blueprints and building plans.
\n\tPrepare budgets and estimate costs for work.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\t\ufeffGrade 12
\n\tNQF Level 4 certificate
\n\tTrade Artisan _ Plumbing
\n\tCompleted Apprenticeship
\n\t5 years post-qualification experience within the artisan trade.
\n\tRelevant working experience in building maintenance and plumbing.
\n\tExperience of working in a healthcare\/ hospital environment advantageous.
\n\tMust have a valid drivers license.
\n\tMust be available to work on standby and attend callouts as required.<\/p>\n
