\n\tOperating the process area according to the work instructions and adhering to usage standards
\n\tCarrying out the required quality checks as described in the quality control and analysis work practice
\n\tRecording waste on the appropriate documentation or information systems, and reviewing waste trends to identify problems or opportunities timeously
\n\tConstantly reviewing process performance against target, and completing all short interval control documentation Responding rapidly to upstream or downstream triggers that result in stoppages
\n\tAppropriate problem solving approaches, as detailed in the problem solving work practice must be followed
\n\tPerforming housekeeping tasks, applying 5S principles and following safe work practices
\n\tUnsafe work practices must be identified and corrected
\n\tAssisting fellow team members in the execution of their tasks\u00a0
\n\tUphold and contribute to a culture of quality & Food safety excellence, taking ownership of systems & processes to ensure the highest standards are met<\/p>\n
Maintenance of Plant and Equipment:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCarry out in-depth cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines according to the work instructions, and following the schedules supplied by the maintenance planner
\n\tCarrying out routine\u00a0
\n\tmaintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule
\n\tWhere routine maintenance reveals larger problems, and the process artisan is unable to resolve these, it must be escalated to the team leader
\n\tTaking part in maintenance and cleaning days\u00a0
\n\tThis work must be executed in support of the maintenance support team and in accordance with the schedule issued by the maintenance planner
\n\tTaking part in maintenance post mortems
\n\tThis must be done in support of maintenance specialist support
\n\tMonitoring trends when conducting routine maintenance
\n\tWhere trends indicate the existence of underlying problems, corrective action must be Quality Control and Analyses taken
\n\tThis corrective action may involve the SBU, the maintenance controller or maintenance support
\n\tWhen operating, the process artisan must carry out the non-destructive quality checks and analyses\u00a0
\n\tThe list of checks to be carried out are contained in the work instructions
\n\tRecording the results of quality checks on the relevant documentation or information system
\n\tWhere production does not meet quality standards the process artisan must try to identify and resolve problems using the appropriate techniques
\n\tIf they are unable to resolve the problem themselves, it must be escalated to the team leader for further direction<\/p>\n
Communication:<\/p>\n
\tActively participating in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions
\n\tMaking use of the gap list to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities
\n\tFully understanding the team goals and participating in team goal review sessions
\n\tWhere FFA’s have been initiated, the process artisan may be asked to participate
\n\tMaking use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues<\/p>\n
Problem Solving:<\/p>\n
\tWhen problems occur, applying the appropriate techniques the identify and correct the problem
\n\tWhere the process artisan is unable to resolve the problem, involve fellow team members or escalate to the team leader if necessary
\n\tWhere problems have been resolved, verify that the problems have been eliminated<\/p>\n
Continuous Improvement:<\/p>\n
\tUsing run\/control charts and trend analysis, to identify sources of waste and variation in the process
\n\tUsing short stop analysis, Pareto charts and other tools seek to identify opportunities to simplify activities
\n\tWhere improvement opportunities have been identified, these must be recorded on the team gap list
\n\tThe process artisan should involve other team members in evaluating opportunities and call in specialist resources to assist if required<\/p>\n
