A leading pet food manufacturing company with a keen interest in the companion animal industry is seeking the above to be responsible for providing accurate financial and operational data to management for decision-making, including the analysis of internal and external data, with a significant focus on stock management within a manufacturing business.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements for the role:<\/p>\n
\tChartered Accountant of South Africa CA (SA) certification is essential for consideration
\n\tMust have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Management Accounting (BCOM or equivalent)
\n\tMinimum 5 years’ working experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment
\n\tExperience in managing a team of at least 5 members is essential
\n\tAdvanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Syspro, Scada) and Excel, along with strong knowledge of financial reporting, corporate governance, and commercial acumen<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tOverseeing the month-end stock take process across the site and outlying depots, ensuring stock accuracy in all storage locations.
\n\tConducting margin analysis, stock valuation, and BOM costing analysis to support accurate financial reporting.
\n\tPerforming traceability audits and managing Work in Progress (WIP), including investigating variances between standard jobs and job valuations.
\n\tReviewing weekly purchase price variances (PPV) using standard costing methodologies and interacting with buyers on pricing issues.
\n\tOverseeing the Chep pallet account and ensuring daily stock balancing of third-party stock within the ERP system.
\n\tCreating accurate product costings, conducting scenario planning, and performing BOM audits, including uploading recipe changes and maintaining BOM records.
\n\tCalculating production overheads, overhead contributions, and various process profit and loss statements.
\n\tReviewing monthly margin analysis, managing sales and raw material price uploads to maintain standard costing, and analyzing production costs to recommend changes.
\n\tImplementing and reviewing internal controls, ensuring the audit file is updated for external audits, and coordinating BOM administration processes.
\n\tSetting clear KPIs for the team, holding team members accountable, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing financial leadership to support business strategy and decision-making.<\/p>\n
