Operational Management<\/p>\n
\tOversee contractors, coordinate, and carry out proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs in the workplace to ensure equipment availability and safe production continuity and legal compliance.
\n\tLegal responsibility in terms of 2.9.2 appointment of the MHSA.
\n\tWarranty repair procedure
\n\tWorking knowledge of implementing maintenance strategies and root cause analysis and RCM principles.
\n\tWorking knowledge of SHEQ standards and legislation.
\n\tOver-inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications and acceptable work practices and workmanship.
\n\tEnsure all safety systems are adhere to and related reporting are communicated to management.
\n\tEnsure that the contractor team\u2019s workshop housekeeping and operating practices are of a high standard and that special tools and equipment is well maintained.
\n\tDevelop and implement improvements where necessary.
\n\tDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder to ensure optimal performance.
\n\tShareholder value Creation: Budget compilation and control, ensure that engineering strategies are aligned to optimize engineering costs, visit identified sites and plants to conduct Engineering process benchmarks.
\n\tEngage with Engineering leadership team and recommend benchmarked methods and techniques and attendance to identified engineering conferences and workshops
\n\tObtain access to Engineering journals and intelligence to expand current knowledge and practice.
\n\tSafety, Health, Environment and Risk Control: Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Control Protocols and SHEQ standards and legislation.
\n\tParticipate in the divisional SHEQ management system and report all SHEQ incidents.
\n\tOrganizational Learning and Development: Ensure skills training Identified to correct any shortcomings, all Artisan skills assessed and suitably trained.
\n\tIdentify formal Engineering training and development required.
\n\tConduct regular practical training and coaching sessions for artisans.
\n\tMaintain a training support function for the area of responsibility.
\n\tSupervise and over inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with maintenance plans and specifications and acceptable work practices and workmanship.

\n\tDevelopment and improvement of maintenance plans for the equipment.
\n\tEnsure alignment of procedures with work practice and the updating of outdated procedures.
\n\tPlan and communicate staffing requirements.

\n\tCommunicate RCA finding to Planning Department for development, to improve reporting via maintenance system.<\/p>\n
Resource Management<\/p>\n
\tProvide input into required changes in resources (financial or non-financial) to enable the achievement of team and\/or own objectives.
\n\tDetermine resource needs of the team and\/or own area of work to achieve business outcomes.
\n\tRequest and allocate required assets and\/or resources for the fulfilment of work objectives to guarantee quality outputs.
\n\tMonitor the use of assets and resources within the team and own area of responsibility, to ensure assets and resources are consistently and appropriately utilised and managed.
\n\tProvide staff with day-to-day direction and tasks aligned with Departmental procedures, to enable the usage of less resources more efficiently.
\n\tManage team and support services including standby resources during breakdowns by communicating failures\/breakdowns in process to limit downtime while adhering to safety standards.
\n\tCoordinate and manage the activities of the staff including equipment operators, maintenance technicians and general labourers in area of accountability to ensure resource management and adequate staffing for delivery.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Relations<\/p>\n
\tCommunicate with all relevant Departments on issues of the area of speciality. Liaise across the relevant Departments by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders remain abreast of Departmental objectives, any potential derailers are appropriately managed and duplication of work is avoided.
\n\tManage relationships and maintain effective communication channels with external stakeholders including suppliers and contractors to track and ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment and services required for mining operations.
\n\tCommunicate with internal and\/or external stakeholders, where required, to achieve work objectives and to maintain relationships.<\/p>\n
Compliance, Risk and Safety<\/p>\n
\tDevelop an appropriate and specific Risk Management Policy and appropriate Procedures and Standards (Codes of Practice)
\n\tDevelop and implement a proactive approach to all safety protocols by creating awareness of hazards and behaviour to enforce compliance to minimise risk of accidents and injuries within the mine.
\n\tConduct regular safety inspections, provide relevant and necessary training to ensure all employees adhere to safety guidelines all the time.
\n\tLead the interdepartmental collaboration and coordination efforts to execute drills and escape procedures in case of emergencies and operational requirements i.e. blasting to mitigate risks and fatalities.<\/p>\n
People Management<\/p>\n
\tCreate and maintain a conducive work environment by appropriately applying Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure optimum performance is realised for the benefit of the operation, by extension, the organisation.
\n\tCoach, mentor and train teams and recommend adequate training and skills development initiatives to improve employee performance.
\n\tManage a high-performance culture for the mine by providing critical and timely feedback (both positive and critical), enabling individuals to improve and work as effectively as possible to meet operational goals.
\n\tImplement clear people management and supervisory tactics within the mine in line with TM\u2019s people management strategies.
\n\tLead the identification and development of talent by ensuring adequate staffing, providing regular mentoring, coaching and training to ensure a competent and capable workforce in line with TM\u2019s people strategies.<\/p>\n

Job-specific experience:<\/p>\n
\tAt least 5 years\u2019 experience as Artisan in Underground Mining Operations;
\n\tAMT PM and MM experience will be advantageous;
\n\tValid medical certificate. (Red ticket);
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license.
\n\tExperience\/Exposure on MS Dynamics F&O, Reporting tools: MS Power BI<\/p>\n
