The role:<\/p>\n
\tThe Mining Activity Engineer reports to the Section Manager Planning.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tCompiling designs, detailed plans and short-term schedules for major mining activities on the mine
\n\tCompiling of weekly\/monthly\/quarterly and annual reconciliations as part of compliance to plan reporting
\n\tSupply required information for weekly marketing and management plans
\n\tAssist in compiling weekly review (planning) meetings presentation(s), as well as the monthly planning meeting
\n\tLiaising with other Activity Engineers with regards to integration of mine plans
\n\tLiaising with various other departments including, but not limited, Survey, Geology, Environmental, Mining, Metallurgy and Engineering
\n\tAssist with annual budget\/LOM process<\/p>\n

Qualification:<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma \/ Degree in Mining Engineering\u00a0OR
\n\tRelevant Opencast mining qualifications\u00a0WITH\u00a0recognition and recommendation for prior learning and experience<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 6 years\u2019 mining experience with 2 years appointed in a relevant mining production environment appointed as a supervisor\u00a0OR\u00a02 years relevant experience as Planning Officer
\n\tExperience with Mine Planning software including, but not limited to, 3D-dig, Microstation, Dragsim, Deswik
\n\tExperience in assessing management principles around mining and related equipment and associated operational standards and philosophies
\n\tExperience in relevant opencast mining areas (mine pit design, activity design [drill & blast, pre-stripping, dragline, truck & shovel, coaling], scheduling, machine performance)
\n\tAn appreciation of legislation relating to the mining industry, as well as applicable procedures
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and variable workload
\n\tGood analytical capabilities
\n\tFinancial budgeting skills
\n\tGood communication (verbal and written) skills
\n\tA high regard for safety
\n\tComputer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license and own transport
\n\tIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tMine Manager\u2019s Certificate of Competency<\/p>\n
