Process Management<\/p>\n
\tProvide health and safety advice to line management and their personnel.
\n\tAssist line management in ensuring compliance to the SHEQ system w.r.t. Occupational Hygiene and Industrial Safety
\n\tReport Industrial Safety and Occupational Hygiene matters to management, senior Safety Officer and other relevant stakeholders.
\n\tAssist the line management in the implementation of an Industrial Safety programme and compliance to the SHEQ system
\n\tProvide input in the compilation of reports on the status and effectiveness of the Industrial Safety and Occupational Hygiene programme
\n\tPresent training on facility conventional safety programme (e.g. procedures, forms, templates and registers
\n\tAssist in the management and chairing of Safety Committee meetings<\/p>\n
Process Implementation\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPerform on-the-job safety evaluation of projects, processes and procedures in order to identify, control and protect against hazards.
\n\tInvigilate activities in the facilities to ensure safe operation
\n\tPrescribe and control protective measures required on work permits and in work instructions (Written Safe\u00a0Work Procedures and Safe Work Method Statements) for routine and low risk tasks.
\n\tAssist line management with incident investigations
\n\tPrescription of appropriate personal protective equipment and ensure that such equipment is provided and used correctly.<\/p>\n
Process Management and Implementation (Specialization)<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the evaluation and selection of suitable contractor(s) based on their competencies, knowledge and resources to carry-out project work or construction work safely
\n\tAssist in the preparation of contract documentation related to construction health and safety requirements (e.g. Section 37(1) Agreements).
\n\tEvaluate contractor(s) health and safety plans to ensure compliance to Necsa standard health and safety specification.
\n\tInvigilate activities of the contractor and ensure that means of controls exist between the client and contractors to stop any work that endangers or has the potential to endanger contactor(s) workers.
\n\tAssist in the review all construction SHEQ-INS documents as subject matter specialist as and when the review dates are due.<\/p>\n
Audits (Internal and External)<\/p>\n
\tPrepare for and attend inspections\/audits (SHEQ, SABS, NNR etc)
\n\tClose inspection\/audit findings w.r.t conventional safety
\n\tAssist line management with statutory and regulatory surveys, inspections and audits.
\n\tConduct internal audits on the implementation of the industrial safety programme. Carry-out SHEQ inspection and audits on a contraction site(s) to ensure compliance with Necsa SHEQ requirements.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tDiploma in Safety Management or equivalent. Professional registration (e.g. Construction Health and Safety Officer) will be an added advantage.
\n\tAt least 3 years in the implementation of SHEQ systems.<\/p>\n
The following would be advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tFormal safety management courses such as SAMTRAC and\/or Occupational Hygiene certificate.
\n\tKnowledge of quality management software.<\/p>\n
