Purpose of Job<\/p>\n
\tA Fire Fighter protects the Company assets, incl. legal partnership agreements, against the adverse consequences that may result from SHERQ related emergency incidents.<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tApply SHE best practices during all activities pertaining to emergency management.
\n\tPerform duties according to instruction.
\n\tPresent and facilitate training interventions to Sasol employees and all service providers in accordance with SAESI, LG SETA and QCTO standards.
\n\tFire Service Instructor will be responsible for training firefighters, teaching them the necessary skills and knowledge needed in emergency situations, and ensuring they are up to date with safety protocols.
\n\tTo use combination of classroom teaching and practical field exercises to deliver their training.
\n\tEnsure performance against KPA\u2019s.
\n\tEnsure own delivery on PDP actions.
\n\tWork cooperatively with all stakeholders.
\n\tReact to emergency situation accordingly.
\n\tIdentify and propose improvements to emergency management training activities.
\n\tIdentify and propose improvements in effectiveness and service delivery of learning.<\/p>\n
Formal Education<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 with mathematical literacy\/equivalent or higher
\n\tMedically fit, according to relevant Fire Fighter fitness level assessment
\n\tFire fighter 1 & 2 (NFPA 1001) – (Must)
\n\tHPCSA Registered and current BAA (BLS) or First Aid Level 3 \u2013 (Wish)
\n\tHPCSA Registered and current ILS \u2013 (Wish)
\n\tHazmat Awareness and Operations (NFPA 1072\/472) – (Must)

A candidate will thus be placed in a specific rank based on years of experience and courses held currently by the individual considered for the position, this will be based on the requirements as stipulated in the relevant Sasol Policies and the Emergency Management career path for Fire Fighter in training up to Leading Fire Fighter level)<\/p>\n
