A vacancy exists for a Rehab Doctor \u00a0within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Ethekwini Hospital & Heart Centre. This successful candidate will report to Practice Manager\/ Hospital Manager<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)<\/p>\n
\tClinical management \u2013 day-to-day clinical management of all rehabilitation inpatients
\n\tProvide holistic clinical services at the rehabilitation unit to in-patients of the rehabilitation unit
\n\tAfter-hour telephonic on-call support and on-site emergency care.
\n\tStakeholder management \u2013 develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development and maintenance of a leading acute rehabilitation service.
\n\tPromote and maintain sound and productive relationships with referring specialists, the EHHC leadership team, the EHHC specialist community and stakeholders in the field of Rehabilitation.
\n\tPromote and maintain sound and productive relationships with the entire rehabilitation team
\n\tParticipation in family meetings and weekly team meetings
\n\tParticipating in compiling patient reports to funders and referring doctors.
\n\tAssist with the marketing of the business and the positioning of the unit as a center for excellence
\n\tCompliance to company policies and formulary and anti-microbial stewardship programmes.
\n\tMonitor and continuously improve patient, referral specialist feedback
\n\tRepresent the image of the company at a professional level<\/p>\n
Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 years experience as a Medical Practitioner.
\n\tAn MBChB and full HPCSA registration.
\n\tProfessional indemnity cover.
\n\tPrevious experience in an interdisciplinary team setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
\n\tExposure to inpatient treatment, high care, ICU, and casualty
\n\tACLS certificate advantageous
\n\tCompetency Expectations
\n\tPatient and family-centered approach.
\n\tHave strong communication skills and an ability to deal with a diverse range of patients, families and fellow team members.
\n\tAn interest in working closely with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and administrators.
\n\tPrepared to assume responsibility for the patients allocated to you, deal with some level of uncertainty, but know when to consult and liaise with other team members, referring doctors, and with consultants.
\n\tHave a strong clinical knowledge and skill base, and a hunger to learn more and be coached.
\n\tBe literate in MS Windows and MS Office.<\/p>\n
