\tThe purpose of this position is to assist in the sampling or collection and preparation of samples to obtain accurate results in order to monitor the performance and achievements of objectives in the organisation<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with Minopex Health and Safety responsibilities.
\n\tIdentify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and maintenance and take preventative measures.
\n\tComply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards and procedures of the job.
\n\tAdhere to lock out procedures at all times.
\n\tComply with legal and operational requirements.
\n\tCarry out visual inspection of the working area to ensure workplace safety.
\n\tEnsure compliance to statutory legislation and organisational requirements.
\n\tPerform routine sampling or collection of samples in operational areas.
\n\tPerform routine preparation of samples (crushing, pulverizing, filtering, rolling, splitting and drying).
\n\tPerform sieve sizing analyses on samples as part of sample preparation.
\n\tInspection and first line fault finding of sampling equipment.
\n\tDaily inspection, cleaning and unblocking of sampling equipment and spillages caused by sampling equipment.
\n\tCleaning of all laboratory equipment and instruments.
\n\tCompleting sample checklists and logging of samples on the system.
\n\tMarking and labelling of sample tags and sample containers.
\n\tStoring of samples according to specifications and colour codes.<\/p>\n
Qualification Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate.<\/p>\n
Experience and Skills Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 1 years\u2019 experience in sample preparation in a laboratory is required
\n\tKnowledge of and good understanding of the basic concepts of sample preparation, e.g. contamination, representative sample and integrity of a sample etc.
\n\tEnglish language proficiency
\n\tTime management<\/p>\n
