Reporting to the Manager: Development Planning within the Office of the Municipal Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following, inter alia:<\/p>\n
\tControlling the critical key performance areas of the functionality and provides input into the broader Development Planning objectives.
\n\tIdentifying the key deliverables and immediate goals detailed in the Council’s Integrated Development Plan with due consideration given to social, visual, functional environmental dimensions impacting on the plan.
\n\tIdentifying the key dimensions and opportunities with regards to Developmental Plans and Integrated Development Framework.
\n\tConducting situational analysis and feasibility studies to assess the impact of specific project initiatives and opportunities.
\n\tCoordinating and executing specific project \/ programme requirements and monitors application and outcomes.
\n\tAssessing compliance with specific Town Planning Regulations and undertaking site Inspections to ensure compliance with developmental plans.
\n\tFormulating plans detailing interventions and \/ or community projects and funding proposals based on identified needs.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tA valid Grade 12 certificate
\n\tA National Diploma or Degree qualification in Town and Regional Planning
\n\tRegistration as a Professional Planner in accordance with the Planning Professions Act 32 of 2002 will be an added advantage
\n\tA minimum of five (05) years experience within Town \/ Regional or Development Planning related environment.
\n\tExperience within the local government sphere will be an added advantage Sound knowledge of local government-related legislation, regulations and policies Highly analytical and strategic thinker
\n\tAbility to communicate in both English and isiZulu
\n\tA valid code B driver’s licence<\/p>\n
